I know this is off topic but can't find any info on what happened to the CO
of the San Francisco that ran aground off Guam. I expect he is looking for a
job.

Up-to-date USN carrier wing composition? by
Ralph Savelsberg
Recently I was surprised to see a picture of VF-211 F-14A sporting the
"AB" (CVW-1) tailcode, a Super Hornet assigned to VFA-106, and a picture
of a VFA-22 Super Hornet with the "NK" (CVW-14) tailcode.
I haven't been following naval aviation in detail in the last year or
so, and find that I've...

BRAC 2005 List by
Joe Delphi
I heard on the radio that the BRAC 2005 list was going to be released
sometime this week. Anyone got a link?
Rumor has it that Los Angeles Air Force Base (Station?) is on the list. It
is mainly a contract administration office, no aircraft located there.
Haven't heard anything about Naval bases...

What kind of pod is it? by

A very nice photo, indeed, but could anyone point out what are the pods
attached to the outboard wing stations?
I would guess these are so-called "personal pods" used for ferry
flights, but as far as I remember they...

Veterans Bar by
Dave
Four retired Navy and Marine vets are walking down the street
window-shopping.
Then they turn a corner and see a sign that says "Veterans
Bar" over the
doorway of an entry into an establishment that doesn't look
all that well
kept up.
They look at each other then go in.

NAS Oceana by

Hi all,
A report from a recent short visit to NAS Oceana. It seems that there have
been a lot of changes with codes from the Tomcats. All serials marked with a

Ribbons on the dungaree uniform?
It's not a dungaree uniform.
Not to mention nearly three rows for a PO3, give me a break.
Why not? Could have been the result of a meritorious bust from PO1.
