O2 Mask On Pilot? by
fred
At some point in time I remember hearing that above a certain altitude the
pilot or co-pilot must be wearing an O2 mask on commercial flights. Am I
right? Details?

Gann Movie "Island in the Sky" by
Paul kgyy
I just watched the DVD of Gann's movie (based on his book, based in
turn on an actual event) last night. I recommend it highly. It's a
good story, the B/W photography is superb, and the aviation element is
about as faithful as it gets. There's also a mini-biography which is
interesting as well...

Boeing 747 Space Shuttle Transporter by
Jim
During the late 70s the first Space Shuttle did glide tests after being
launched from the Boeing 747 Shuttle Transporter.
Does anybody know how the Shuttle was released from the back of the 747.
Did the 747 have to (unbelievably!) roll inverted for the release, or did it
pitch down to an extreme...

About thrust force by
Grandss
I have one question concerning thrust force.
What's happend if i increase thrust at a very hight value (theorics).
I know that lift will increase too and drag decrease.
But for the plane, what it do really.

Thanks

At last, the truth... by
Jay Honeck
Most of our guests at the hotel are not pilots. It's simply a matter of
numbers -- there are a LOT more non-pilots than there are pilots, and they
need hotel rooms, too. Many of our guests are "wannabes" or aviation
enthusiasts, however. Although we have found many people who are afraid...

Navy? C2/COD makes single engine, gear up landing. by
Dave S
Just saw a video on local (Houston) news of a Grumman C2 making a belly
landing on a paved runway at Norfolk, VA. Over 25 souls on board,
everyone ok.
The left fan was turning, the right one was feathered. Apparently the
right engine failure prevented the gear from being extended. I would
have...
