Pool party weather update? by
Montblack
How's the flying weather for your pool party looking? Noon on Saturday. All
directions?
Reason I ask is, I was just over at Golden Wings Museum this morning to pick
up any extra cargo they need hauled over to OSH. They have things set out on
folding tables for each plane.
The gang had just gone...

Guys, guys, guys -- the party is TOMORROW night! by
Jay Honeck
We had half a dozen pilots show up today, expecting a party at the inn. For
those who haven't been paying attention, the pool party is TOMORROW
(Saturday) night...
We ended up all going down to our corner tavern, and partying at the pool
anyway -- but geez, we can't keep this up...

Banners by
George Patterson
Spent a few hours repairing a roof at the shore. Watching the banner towers go
by. One of them was a Maule - unusual for this area. There was even a helicopter
towing one, and the banner looked too big for the usual aircraft. Wish that sort
of thing paid more.

OSH NOTAM question by
Dan Luke
On p. 6 it says:
"Airport acceptance rate after noon is reduced to on-airport activity."
Shouldn't that say "...reduced *due* to on-airport activity?"
As written, it almost sounds like they're saying the airport is closed
to arrivals after noon.

Bob Buck? by
Mike Weller
I'm reading Robert Buck's book "North Star Over My Shoulder".
I started it because I've used his advice from "Weather Flying".
Well I got to page 43 and he descibes his early lessons as doing
stunting, where you pull the nose up and then do a tailspin.
A "tailspin?"
From a pilot that flew 747s?...

Pre-OSH Party Wx by
john smith
It appears as I would have to cross the warm front to get from Ohio to
Iowa Saturday, so I don't think the party is going to happen for me.
On the positive side, the weather will move off to the east of Wisconsin
by Sunday morning and the party participants will have excellent
tailwinds to the big...

RAP & RAH Oshkosh field frequency by
RST Engineering
I think we could coexist with Vette on 123.3 with handhelds on the field
during Oshkosh, but I just did a fairly detailed search for 123.5 and found
no takers within twenty miles.
THEREFORE, let's make that rah/rap on field coordination frequency 123.5 and
don't give your kids the transceiver to...

Senator Schumer now personally handles noise complaints by
iflyatiger
I guess Senator Schumer has so much free time that he is personally handling
noise complaints !
Every day of the year I hear the train blow it's whistle and I hear the
noise of the engine when it goes past my neighborhood..
What do you think should I give him a call and have him come to my house...

Serengeti Sunglass Parts by
RST Engineering
As luck would have it, I tore the right paddle from its mount on my
Serengeti glasses while loading the airplane for departure. Not a chance I
can get them fixed by tomorrow morning, but when I get back does anybody
know of a good place to get repair parts for Serengetis?

Eye in the sky by
Pat Thronson
Hi all,
Here is a nice piece of software you might need/enjoy. You need a decent
computer/graphics card, and a high speed internet connection. If you've got
that then go to www.earth.google.com, download and install it. It is too
cool. You can start from space and zoom in interactively to...

More on Fuel Management - and an Ethical Dilemma by
Greg Farris
In the June AOPA Pilot "State of General Aviation" issue, Bruce
Landsberg gives a gold star to Cessna, for their new production singles,
which, according to the article, have not suffered a single fuel
mismanagement accident. Well, I know of one near-miss, which could have
broken that record, and...

Oshkosh: Which day to skip? by
Adam Aulick
I will be camping at Oshkosh for all six nights with my non-aviation
father and my 5-year-old son. We'll be taking one day off to go tour
the nearby Clydesdale farm (reservations required) and whatever other
things strike our collective fancy.
Does Airventure have a varying "character" as the...

SUA activities for OSH bound pilots by
Jim Burns
Pilots heading to OSH can monitor 120.0 for SUA activity reports for Volk
East/West MOA and the restricted areas associated with them.
F16's are currently (14:00Z Friday) tearing up the sky and making all kinds
of fun noise overhead.
