Celeb Sitings at FBO's by
Paul Tomblin
In a previous article, "Ben Smith" said:
How often do you guys see celebrities, or otherwise famous people at your
FBO? A few months ago, I was at MSN, and saw a Gulfstream pull up and it
I saw Rudi Guilliani and Hillary Clinton arrive at Prior Aviation...

Do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. by

Okay, now would probably be a good time for folks here to familiarize
themselves with www.spamcop.net and get this loser's ISP account yanked.

Downloadable VOR/ADF simulator? by
Brad Z
Greetings!
I'm taking my CFII checkride at the FSDO tommorrow and since I'm taking my
laptop along with me, I thought it would be cool to have a VOR/ADF
simulator/trainer loaded on my computer to use as a teaching aid. Since
internet access won't be available, I'd like a some sort of freeware...

Real-life flight planning by
Paul Folbrecht
Being newly licenced (yesterday), I've started thinking about the type
of VFR flight-planning I'll do in the real, post-student world, and what
tools I'll use.
As a student, of course, I did everything by hand, and meticulously, and
eschewed GPS navigation as well. Some of my observations from my...

Screwdrivered Security (a little long) by
Judah
OK... So I flew home from Tom Ridge airport in Erie, PA today.
I couldn't fly myself there because of weather (freezing rain, snow, ice
and such), so I took the bus (Airbus, that is)...
Anyway, flying out from LGA everything was smooth as silk. I fly
commercially enough to know the routine and...

Windshields - tint or clear? by
Roger Long
I've got 24 hours to decide on a new windshield. What are the pros and cons
of clear vs tint?
I'm leaning towards clear since you can always put sunglasses on. I haven't
seen any "de-tint" glasses.

interesting day to Catalina by
lance smith
So I recently got my cast removed* and was able to go flying. I did
some local pattern work one day, then decided to go on a short XC to
AVX (Catalina Island) this weekend. I was a little rusty but
everything came back in short order.
Departing from CRQ(Carlsbad-Palomar) was hectic- we had santa...

Unmanned Shuttle Operation? by
AES/newspost
Can any of the existing (remaining) shuttles launch, enter orbit,
reenter, and land completely unmanned, i.e., completely under computer
control? Or could they be modified to do so without too much trouble?

Sold out by IFR by
Mike Rapoport
I used to subscribe to IFR until I realized that they offered a much better
rate to new subscribers than to existing ones. After realizing this, my
four year old decided to subscribe :-). Today he recieved a solicitation

Kerry is a pilot? by
Toks Desalu
I was watching MSNBC recently and learned that John Kerry, a democrat, is a
certified pilot, I saw a quick episode of him flying a plane in left seat.
There is no way to recognize what kind of plane, but it is definitely a low
wing. Just wanted to share what I saw.
