MSNBC: a Beauty! by
Bob Chilcoat
I had MSNBC on in the background this afternoon. The reporter suddenly says
a small plane is down on a thruway ramp. I look up and see an overhead
video from a helicopter of a 172 parked alongside an exit ramp with a couple
of police cars parked around it . Reporter says pilot lost engine power...

Local TV News ran an accurate story about airframe icing last night by
Peter R.
I fly out of Syracuse, NY (US) and the winter these past three weeks has
been pretty tough for aviation. Daily snowfall, low clouds, gusty winds,
and very, very cold.
Last night our local evening news ran a story about this year's winter,
which included a shot of an American Eagle ERJ aircraft...

Enola Gay Damaged at Air & Space Museum Opening by
Jay Honeck
I'm surprised no one has brought up this travesty.
For those who don't know, the Enola Gay -- beautifully refurbished and now
on display at the new Udvar-Hazy facility of the National Air & Space
Museum -- was damaged by some nut case from Ohio who threw something at the
plane and dented it during...

G.W. Fetter by
N8KDV
Yep, pilotjoeturner was a pseudonymn that G.W. Fetter made up during a
flame war on rec.radio.scanner.
The reason I'm posting this here is because I got an email this morning
from an unsatisfied customer who was trying to track him down, and
noticed I had posted on rec.radio.scanner.
If you'd...

Brad Z
I thought this was a joke when I first read this, from the AOPA win a twin
sweepstakes official rules:
"...In compliance with Canadian law, if winner is a Canadian resident, he or
she must first correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question before
the prize will be awarded. If the...

I think this applies really well to Usenet too. The stakes are
much smaller here though, so I suppose things are a bit more vicious.

Jobs in Alaska by
gpsposter
I will have my CFI soon and hope to move to Alaska. I know that for most
'bush pilot' type jobs you need at least 1500 hrs and 500 Alaska hrs. What
are the availability of CFI jobs though? I hope to build my Alaska time and
get my seaplane rating and tailwheel endorsement while flight...
