The cost sharing - reimbursment - flight for hire mess by
Roger Long
There have been some disjointed threads on the topic, the most recent of
which I started.
I got interested in this because my flying club board felt that our flight
rules should cover the basics of this issue. A couple days ago, AOPA sent me
a great book which is a compilation of articles by...

Radio Squeal by
B. Jensen
I just hard wired my ANR headset into my ship's power so that I no
longer have to use a 9v battery as a power source. Now I am getting an
intermittent squeal when I transmit. I never had this problem with the
9v power pack. My ANR is a Headsets Inc. conversion to a David Clark
headset.
Any ideas...

US pilot flying a Canadian registered plane by
Doug
If I go to Canada and fly a Canadian registered plane, can I fly it in
Canada on my US license? Can I bring it back into the US (say I buy
it), can I fly it in the US? Anyone have any experience with getting a
Canadian registered plane registered in the US? I suspect it is quite
hard now,...

Taking hand-held transcivers on commercial airlines by
Harry Gordon
As previously posted, my wife and I are flying to WI next week. I plan on
renting a plane and doing some local flying once we are there. My question
is, I have a Icom A-5 that I would like to take with me should I need
back-up communications during my local flying. Have any of you taken a
hand-held...

Discovery Wings Oct 22 by

If a tape of Discovery wings will not be sold for this date's programming,
would any reader be able to copy this program for me? Of course I will pay
(and add any six pack expense as well!). On Oct. 22, Wings will air an Oshkosh
segment and a History in Flight segment. I am unable to watch,...

AOPA Expo - 2003 Philadelphia by

Anybody going to AOPA's expo in Philadelphia at the end of
the month? It should be pretty interesting with lots of
seminars and such. They will have lots of parking space at
both KPHL and KPNE. KPHL has a nice train (regional rail)
which leaves each airport terminal and stops directly
underneath...

Flight School recommendation -- Unionville CT by
Duane MacInnis
Hi all,
Could someone recommend a good flight school and instructor in the
Unionville, Plainville or Farmington area of CT?
I have family in that area that might want to learn to fly. Neices &
nephews.
I have seen one fancy outfit at Robertson (Interstate) and the dusty field
at Jonnycake.

NE fall foliage report by
Cub Driver
In my area we lost a lot of color last week when tropical storm Mindy
went whipping through with heavy rain and gusts of up to 50 mph. (I
hope they had the Cubs hangared!) Since then, though, some of the
green leaves have turned, so it's almost back to ideal. I drove up
through CT and MA yesterday,...

Stall resistant 172? by
Roger Long
I'm one of those pilots who generally only does stalls on BFR's and
checkouts. Extended slow flight with the stall horn going and the wings
wallowing strikes me as being more productive.
Another club member mentioned to me a while ago that our 172 N doesn't stall
any more. I haven't done stalls in...
