MSNBC Sucks ! by
me
I have to vent..
Was anybody else trying to watch the coverage of the d-day ceremonies ?
MSNBC is supposedly covering the d day ceremonies in France. The focus
should be on the event and the men and woman who fought then not the
reporters or the tv program....
The reporters will not shut up and...

C175A Headliner wanted by
Clay
I am looking for a used (can be well used) headliner for a C-175A.
Needs to be in the free to cheap price range.
The plan is to use it for a pattern. This way I can make a headliner
in a design and texture which is not available without going to a
custom shop.
Since this is going to be an...

exceeding TBO on Continental 0200-A by
Marty from Sunny Florida
Hello everyone. I'm continuing my quest to buy the best deal in America
today.
Another option I've looked at is purchasing a low price Cessna with an
engine that's past it's recommended time between major overhaul. Some of the
sellers I've spoken with are insistent that recomended times...

A/D Question for Piper Cherokees by
zatatime
Does anyone know the A/D number for the vertical fin/rudder that came
out last year (maybe the year before)?
It involves inspecting either the vertical fin or rudder for cracks
and describes repair options if they are found.
Appreciate any help from those who may know this A/D number.
TIA.

foreign aircraft by
The Weiss Family
Hi All,
I have been looking for my first aircraft, and I came across one that looked
promising, except that it is registered outside the U.S.
Is this something that I should completely avoid?
How do you go about getting it registered in the U.S.?
Are there certain countries that are better than...

Engine Analyzers by
M.E. Borner
I am seriously thinking about installing an Engine Analyzer in my
plane and am looking at options. I think I have narrowed the choice to
J.P. Instruments or Electronics International. My mechanic has more
experience with JPI and feels their probes have a longer life. My
research has me leaning...

Cessna 150 vs 152 by
Marty from Sunny Florida
From what I've read on this NG, the Lycoming engine is a better choice in
terms of hours to Major Overhaul. A Continental engine with Millenium
cylinders makes the engine less likely to fail. All things equal, including
the price, what is considered a better buy, the 150 or 152? Presume they're
one...

High wing vs low wing by
temp
I am sure this has been beat to death many times but I have not seen it so
here you go again.
I have just agreed to buy an aircraft, pending the few details that always
crop up. It happens to be a low wing plane, but all my time so far has been
in a C152. The low wing appeals to me as the lack of...

Question about auto gas STC by
JimT96309
I am currently interested in an older C-172 (Cont. 0-300 engine) that has an
STC for auto gas. My questions a
1. Can I continue to use AVgas instead of auto fuel?
2. I often fly into/out of Big Bear City, Ca. (elev. 6500ft.) I've been able
to get out lightly loaded (me and one in the right...

Ramifications of Cherokee Trim Jackcrew Failure by
Bob Chilcoat
As I mentioned in a couple of other threads in RAP recently, the trim
jackscrew is very worn in our '74 Archer. The wear seems to be nearly half
of the thread depth. In other words, you can move the screw laterally
inside the drum about half of the height of a thread. It can be rocked
angularly...

seeking residential airpark in NJ by
Dave
As far as I can tell, the only residential airpark in NJ is
Alexandria. But at Sun n' Fun in 2003, I was told that another was
being developed. So far, however, I haven't been able to find
anything on it. Does anyone know of other airparks in NJ?

How long until prop O/H by
Robert M. Gary
My Hertzile (?sp?) has almost 900 since its been torn down. I've heard
different things from different mechanics. I know the actual TBO on
the prop is now something like 20,000 hours. However, I don't want to
get stuck somewhere with a problem. How much time do most people here
put on their...

I can not recomend Devine Engine and Airframe. We had problems with
an overhaul of the Engine and servicing of the props on my PA23. The
problems had to be corrected by our local mechanics. Bruce the owner
of Devine has taken the approach of if you want resolution then call
your lawyer.

transponder repair by
[email protected]
I have a Narco AT50A transponder that is not working right. Since I
don't fly IFR, I'm thinking I'll just get it repaired and not upgrade
to an expensive unit with a more modern design (such as Garmin GTX
327). It seems that if the repair is cheaper than buying a used
yellow-tagged newer model, I'm...
