Cherokee 235 vs Trinidad vs Comanche by
Douglas Paterson
Hello, All!
About a year ago, I started airplane shopping. For personal and
professional reasons, I had to back-burner that after never getting past the
tire-kicking stage. Along the way, I got a lot of help from folks on this
board, so now I'm returning to the fount as I prepare to begin...

Where to find historic plane prices by
[email protected]
Is there a place one can get the historical price of new
planes for the past 10-20 years ? Want to know how the
price of planes moved up over the years.
Second question is about the price difference between the
manufactures and the dealers. Can one project that the bigger
the difference, the...

Lycoming's SB569 for Shoppers by
Douglas Paterson
Another newbie question for the group:
(I feel like this MUST have been discussed here before, but my search came
up empty--if I need to work on my USENET search skills, try to be gentle
with me....)
Can anyone help me decode what's going on with Lycoming's SB 569? It seems
like all the...

KNS-80 display has gone haywire... by
Dico
Hello,
Our KNS-80 today wasn't 100%. Infact, for most of the day it was U/S.
Here is some background... today was cold...-15C (5F). I turned on the
heat in the hangar about 90 minutes before the flight so that the cabin
would get warm.
Once i started the plane and turned on the avionics...

How to compare/valuation of features by
Douglas Paterson
Hey, Folks:
Grab a beer on me, I'd like to solicit some more opinions. If you've read
the other thread on airplane comparisons, you know I'm shopping for an
airplane.
So, I have another question. This time, not how to compare airplanes, but
how to make an apples-to-apples comparison...

Inspection Mirrors by
RST Engineering
OOOkay, the last time I bought a set of inspection mirrors was back in '66
when I was with PSA. I just dropped my favorite gimballed mirror and am in
the market for a new mirror(s). I guess a set of mirrors every 40 years
isn't too bad.
Anyway, anybody got a favorite source for inspection...

Hanger Ground Lease Terms by
Al
Our airport is opening up some new areas for hanger
construction. There is some concerns over the length of the new lease
terms and I was hoping to get the following from some of your airports:
1. Length of ground lease in year (20-30-40, more?)
2. Number of term renewals (one or two or more):
3...

Airplane sellers using a broker/dealer by
[email protected]
For those who have sold an airplane before, how do the dealers charge
their
fees for finding a buyer ? 3%, 5%, 10%of the purchase price ? Or a
fixed
amount for a "listed period" ?
I'm most interested in information on commission for planes in the
$100,000 - $200,000 range.

Roy N5804F
Piper Archer II PA28-181
Help please !!
We have just replaced the cabin roof airduct in our 1977 Piper Archer II

The duct feeds fresh air from the rear mounted blower to each of the 4
overhead air outlets.
The air is controlled by a push & pull cable mounted in the duct.
With the air...

Ramp fees for Jets by
Dico
Hello,
I'm on the board of our local flying club and we manage the GA ramp.
I am wondering if people can share with me what their airport (or other
airports they've been to) are charge for overnight fees for jets. We
have a small overnight fee for planes (which i believe is waived if
they fuel...

My flying club in Germany has purchased a 1972 Piper Pawnee PA25-235 "C" as
a restoration project. Now we are looking for some big sketches
(construction papers, blueprints or building plans?) of the aircraft with
the drawing we need for the work on the aircraft giving all detail

Help Channeling a collins GLS-350 by
Sandy Barber
I have a Collins GLS-350 glide slope receiver I would like to channel using
2 of 5 channeling. The Pinout info I have only refers to BCD. I see
references to using 2 of 5 with this receiver but no details how to do it.

Airpark lot, things to consider before buying? by
[email protected]
Howdy,
I'm lucky to have found a lot nearby that has pretty much everything I
want, including 2600 ft. of turf runway. This whole thing has been
carved out of the bush in the past 6 months. Great fishing is just a
stretch of the legs away, and while it is awfully rural, it isn't that
far away from...

Pitot heat element failed. Options? by
Peter R.
Just this past week my Bonanza V35's pitot heat element failed. I had a
mechanic look at it to determine if the cause was power/wiring related or
if the element itself had failed.
Of course, it was the element itself that had failed, which apparently in
the Bonanza's case means a new pitot...

Airgizmo and Garmin 496 Install Saga by
Marco Leon
Apparently, installation of the Airgizmo panel dock is quite the touchy
subject up here in the Northeast. I know this has been a subject of a
number of threads but I figured I'd relay my experience so far. Since I
would like it integrated with my Garmin 430 and 340 audio panel (for
the audio out),...

Building a New Mighty Grape by

Since many aircraft owners have asked me about building our mogas fuel
truck (which we called "The Mighty Grape" because of its horrible
purple color) I thought I'd post my experiences with bringing our new
"Grape" -- a '95 Toyota T100 -- to life.
The Mighty Grape -- subject of magazine articles...
