Nightmare (long story) by
JJS
So... I'm having this bad dream. It's 3:30 am and I can't sleep. The wind is howling its ferocious song and I think
the wind turbine vents are about to overspeed into total oblivion. I groggily put on my robe and walk out into the
garage, retrieve a flashlight, snap on the backyard light and...

Yet another annual story - nice short happy one by
Bob Noel
(note the term "annual" and not merely "annual inspection")
Well, my cherokee 140 has survived another year. The annual started
Thursday at about 11:30am and we tucked the airplane back in
the hangar at 4pm Friday.
The downside being I was unable to assist with this annual due
to post-surgery...

Big bad ugly first annual by
ncoastwmn
I'm not sleeping after getting the report grounding my Luscombe 8A
after its first annual as my plane. All the advise about a pre-buy
inspection is true! I thought my plane was too to do that at a long
distance. (My plane came from Georgia, I'm in California). The outboard
five feet of the wings...

Piper SB 1161 by
[email protected]
Last week I received a new Piper Service Bulletin, which seems to affect all
older (pre 1983) retractable gear PA-28s (Arrow), PA-32s (Lance/Saratoga),
PA-34s (Seneca), and PA-44s (Seminole). It calls for recurrent dye
penetrant inspections of a particular wing rib (one in each wing) where...

Cessna 172H by
Andrew
Hi everybody,
I have just bought myself a 31st birthday present, an absolutely immaculate
Cessna 172H. It has original paint and interior and looks as though it just
came out of the factory. Has has a fairly easy life with total time of
4,400 and log books going back to original assembly in...

List of airports with autofuel by
M
I'm looking for a website that has the entire list of all airports in
US that are reported to sell autofuel. airnav.com is close, but the
best I can search is a 200nm radius from a given point (airport or
lat/long). It'll take me over 200 searches in a grid search pattern to
cover the entire...

Ammeter "woggle" by
scott moore
I was having a long standing problem on my 172N
with the ammeter "woggling", that is, rapidly
wiggling back and forth in level flight, through about
1/2 of the total scale. This was going on for a year
or more. On the last annual, the AP had me disassemble
the solenoids and brush the leads. There...

Looking for longer Continental 0200A Dip Stick. by
Larry
I have a "long neck" 5 qt oil sump. I am using a short dip stick (ie.
mismatch) which shows approx. 1 qt low. I would like to change it out
just to "make it right" and no confusion. Where is a good place to find
one to buy or trade with mine? Thanks.

Columbia crash...opinions by
Kobra
Check this clip out. What does everyone think happened here?
http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZWC2XJYgcJU
It looks like a 182, so it had *some* muscle.
I think it must have been hot, maybe a high elevation, loaded with fuel,
people and equipment. But one passenger was a small boy so he couldn't...
