ION aircraft being built at ANE by

I always have fun when I bop in and talk with Steve, of ION aircraft. He's
bursting with enthusiasm, ...and airplane knowledge (history AND
engineering). He walked up to me at one of our EAA Chapter meetings and
said, "Are you Montblack?"

Check out the links.

Zink Chromate Paste by
Michael Horowitz
Duralac Zinc Chromate Paste doesn't appear in the Spruce or Wick
catalog, apparently for health reasons.
I do see it mentioned for sale by marine stores.
Has anyone using an acceptable substitute, easier to locate? - MIke

aluminum rib, aluminum spar, holes drilled but screws broken off by
jls
I'm rebuilding a Super Cub wing and the flanges on the ribs and the
spar caps have been drilled perfectly so the #4 steel screws go right
in, that is, if a screw has not been broken off. In which case I have
the option of redrilling and turning the spars into Swiss cheese and
losing ac43-13 edge...

Bose Aviation X versus DC X11 by
DonMorrisey
I won the company football pool so I've decided to spend a lot of money
on a headset, which is something I wouldn't ordinarily do. I'm
wondering if some of the group members have experience with either of
these head sets. There is a big price difference. If I'm reading the
Bose website correctly...

What is a 'PK" screw? by

You Know You're Old Dept. by
[email protected]
You know you're old when some kid posts a picture of a plane you've
flown in captioned: 'What the hell is THIS?'
(It's an AJ-2, son. A nice airplane and one of the largest to have
flown off an Essex-class carrier.)

Leaking Fiberglass Fuel Tanks by
[email protected]
I have been looking at different "sloshing" type sealers for the inside
of some old fiberglass tanks installed in the wings of a Cessna.
What is the current thinking for the best sloshing compound for sealing
fiberglass tanks if auto gas is used???
I have seen the epoxy resins from a few sources...

? Screw head diameter? by
Michael Horowitz
MS24593 is a flat head machine screw with a 6-32 shank/thread. In this
application the diameter of the screwhead is important.
I went to HD and bought a 6-32 machine screw to see what length I
needed (the original having rusted beyond recognition). I compared the
HD screw with the MS and noticed...

The raghead jihadists are a real threat.Period!
I want to help fighting them buy building glying
killer drones. You know, there *could* be Jihadist
training camps somewhere in the woods around
you. Or in the desert. On a mountain. Everywhere.
We must all help in this War on Terror.
So, how can I...

Etching copper clad by

Getting ferric chloride from Radio Shack is getting problematic. Is
there a common household chemical that I can use for etching a circuit

to do it in the not to distant past, but I can't find anything about it
in my back...
