Flying on the Cheap - - Door skins by
[email protected]
To All:
A 'door skin' is a 3' x 7' sheet of 1/8" Luan plywood. It differs from
a regular four-by-eight sheet of eighth-inch luan ply because door
skins are USUALLY fabricated using waterproof glue.
The simple test for waterproof glue is to boil a sample of the plywood.
The regular stuff comes...

clare at snyder.on.ca
A bit off topic - but what kind of power and speed might I expect to
get out of a GSC 68" 3 blade prop used as a wind terbine?

Propellors vs Rotors by
Don W
Can someone explain to me why 300HP applied to a large rotor
at ~700 RPM is enough to lift a 2000lb helicopter straight up,
but the same 300HP applied to a smaller diameter propellor
at ~2600 RPM can not even come close to allowing a 2000 LB
airplane to climb vertically?
This is really bugging me....

Two place, folding wing, historic homebuilt by

I know, the question has been already asked before, but I am looking
for suggestions on a plans-built, two place, folding wing design which
has some history behind it. I am starting up an experimental aircraft
museum, and am looking for a project to build in the museum as a
demonstration, as well...
