Rob Cherney
I have heard that Scaled Composites will be attempting a powered
flight of their Space Ship One craft on Wednesday or Thrusday. Does
anyone know any more than this?

Fiberglass Cowl Problem by
Boelkowj
Hello All: I have 10-32 screws with 8s size Tennerman Washers as attach
fittings. The cowling holes have worn slowly but surely and now I know it is
time to fix this vibration problem. I like the size of the 8s but I suspect I
really should use 10s. They are unpainted and not bonded to the cowling....

1/2 place flex seating configuration by
Jay
Trading off tandem vs side by side seating I came upon an idea I
wanted to run by the group. The mission my aircraft needs to perform
is mostly a single place weekend out and back kind of mission, with an
occasional 2 person XC trip. I'd been homing on the tandem seat
config because I like the...

Ford Funded "Flyer" Flops by
Harry Burns
Well folks,
So goes it for the Wright Experience boys. A whole lot of sponsor money spent.
An exclusive contract and a great gig. Fame, fortune and all that goes with
it. But in the end, none of it mattered. That good 'ole 1903 did 'em in after
two attempts, which proves two things. First,...

The Wright Flyer yesterday by
Michael Horowitz
Yesterday's coverage pointed out two things that caught my ear:
First, that it was a considerable amount of time before the Brothers
were able to duplicate the longest flight of the day, and second, that
the craft was (apparently) just on the edge of being able to fly.
So, anyone know what aspect...

100th anniversary baby born by
[email protected]
I'm proud to announce the birth of N601ZR 12/17/2003.
The inspection and registration process went smoothly, it almost seemed
effortless.
The EAA tech counselors did their 3rd and final inspection on Sunday.
I went back out monday and spent a couple hours taking care of a few
items they had...

Seat belts. by
Paul Lee
Got a set of JCWhitney seat belts w/shoulder strap. But will not
work since the upper adjustment works with lower part
to create an open Y on bottom.
Need something like old Cesnna 150 type where the single upper
shoulder simply attaches to the buckle without pulling it up.
Any body know of a good...

Wing in Ground Effect? by
BllFs6
Hi all...
I know this is somewhat off topic perhaps...but maybe somebody here has the
tidbit of info I need....
As Im sure you all know....the Lift to drag ratio of a wing goes way up once it
gets close to ground.....and roughly speaking the effect becomes pronounced
when the wing has an altitude...

"Whiskey" for compass? by
dale
Anybody got a replacement for the kerosene looking fluid in the whiskey
compass? It evaporates or leaks over the period of a year with no outside
evidence of a leak. The compass has new gaskets. Interested in something a
little thicker.

Question: Researching Project by
Tilt
Hi,
I'm looking to get into a homebuilt project within a few years from now.
I've been doing some early research to see what's out there and look at
options.
I haven't come close to picking a final subject as my project yet, but I
have some pretty good ideas of what I want. So far the aircraft...
