Glue removal - ceconite by
Michael Horowitz
I'm in the process of removing the fabric covering (ceconite) from my
wings and am now faced with the problem of glue removal from the
leading/trailing edges and assorted ribs.
MEK will disolve it, but with much patience.
I find coating with MEK, letting it sit (unfortunately, it's
evaporating...

Oshkosh questions by
Andy Asberry[_2_]
I'm thinking of volunteering at AirVenture during the show and two
weeks prior. Does EAA provide any place to camp for volunteers? I
don't mind paying during the show but premium rate ($20/day) for a
field is kind of tough to swallow. Especially while I'm working for
free. There are a lot of full...

EAA plans major building expansion? by
Bob Fry
From an RV list:
I saw an interesting story this morning on the local news.
Apparently EAA is planning a 10 year project to expand the
Airventure grounds and build 2 new exhibit buildings. The current
plan looks to link the existing 4 buildings into two pairs buy
building a new two...

If you live West of the Mississippi River, may I humbly suggest that you
make a stop in Iowa City, IA (KIOW) on Saturday, July 26th to partake in our
annual Oshkosh fly-in pool party?
Each year we serve FREE food, refreshments (adult and otherwise), music, and
hangar flying at poolside...

Different aircraft design. by

I apologize if this is too far off topic as this is not a homebuilt
for sure. Useful for education. It is interesting in the design and
efficiency of operation. I am surprised that it has not made the
commercial market place with our increasing fuel...

AV gas prices by
Stuart & Kathryn Fields
Well it has happened. Local 100LL is $5.60/ gal and is not expected to
decrease. Is there anyone out there using Supreme MoGas in a Lycoming 0320
with 8.5:1 compression? If so what ignition timing changes were needed if
any?
thanks

Got a problem with my wooden spar. by
Lou
I was working on one wing when the other wing (and I'm guessing)
vibrated of the supports onto the concrete. It broke the end rib which
I will have to build a new one. but it also broke one of the two 3/4 x
3/4 parts for the rear spar 12" from the end. Any ideas on how to fix
this? I'm thinking...

A Camcorder for Homebuilders by

Samsung SC-MX10-XAA. Type that into Google, they'll show you a
picture of it. But it is smaller than it looks -- it's about the size
of a small Russet potato... about 5" long by 2.5" in diameter.
Street price is about $180 (as of May 2008)
If you're an accomplished videographer you'd never give...

Valve Train Geometry: Devil = Details by

This week's Mystery Topic appears to be Valve Train Geometry, with a
total of four messages since Monday, including one today.
It's really pretty simple -- you're actuating a pivoted lever with a
push-rod. The goal is to do so with the least amount of wasted
motion. That means the mid-point of...

Left handed GIII by

I have owned a Glasair III in the past and look back in that as the most fun
flying ever. I sold that and got a T210 in the hope that my wife would join
me in my passion. Well that didn't happen so I've sold the T210 and now on
the hunt for a replacement GIII. I've found one that looks nice...
