Hangar Design by
Kyle Boatright
Our EAA chapter is perpetually scheming for ways to acquire a hangar for
member aircraft and for chapter activities. Obviously, any reasonably sized
hangar requires a substantial outlay of funds. The cost issue seems to be
the big hold-up right now.
Anyway, we're looking at a variety of...

OSH ...aluminum needs polishing. HELP!! by
Montblack
What are the wings bonded with? Will they safely withstand the internal
temperatures they'll see in bare aluminum finish?
We didn't talk specifics when I was at the hangar, other than - when the ION
was engineered (by people who know this stuff), that was very much factored
in.
The rest...

Pathfinder autopilot by
Klettke
Hoping someone has information or can direct me to information on the
pathfinder P1 autopilot. Specifically wiring diagrams and users manual. I
tried the Astronautics website, but they only seem to support the latest and
greatest in electronics.
Thanks.

Oshkosh Housing??? by
RST Engineering
As most of you know, after a fairly long 33 year attendance record at The
Show, Gail and I decided that we could only afford one long trip last year
and we had a "must do" radio show gig in Anchorage last July.
Montblack got my dorm reservations and I just flat forgot to re-register for
this...

Experience with AFS? by
Michael Horowitz
Am trying to decide on a covering system for my Tcraft.
Searching thru the archives for comments on various systems, we find
that AFS is apparently the least expensive and toxic.
If you've had experience with the system, I'd like to hear pros/cons -

I made $1.25 million last year alone, I'll show you how!!! by
[email protected]
For many years I worked for other people on the daily grind. 9 - 5 and much
longer
hours for what now seems like very poor pay.
I suppose looking back on it now, I didn't really know how trapped I
was until I discovered an easy way to make money using Ebay and the
Internet.
Since then I haven't...

Rocket Racing League/Zzzz by
Kyle Boatright
Did anyone else see today's story in ANN that one of the founding teams in
the Rocket Racing League is dropping out, due to incompatible communication,
vision, and business practices between the team and league?
The funniest part was where ANN "disclosed" that Zoom was one of the
"founding"...

P6E Hawk Replica Flight Video by
Jay Honeck
A few weeks back, I posted a video of Keith Roof's Iowa City-based
Curtiss P6E Hawk replica. Since then, it has flown successfully --
and here's a link to a video of Keith's SECOND flight:

Prop Clocking Matters by
Kyle Boatright
I have always clocked the prop on my RV-6 so it stops at 10:00 and 4:00 when
viewed from the front. The idea being that this is the best orientation for
hand propping if I ever needed to do that.
During my recent condition inspection, I mistakenly reinstalled the prop
with either a 120 degree...

WTB Rotax 912S/ULS by
James Sleeman
Hi all, does anybody have a lead on a used 912S or 912ULS that might
be going cheap and willing to ship 1/2 way around the world? My club
is trying to source one for a member.
High time near-overhaul is probably to be expected. We'd be trying to
get it landed here in NZ for around $6500 USD.

VP-2 Plans by
kansaswildman
I found a set of plans on the net. I was wondering if anybody had a vp-2
that wasn't finished yet and would be willing to part with it fairly
reasonable. I am currently implementing the plans into AutoCad/Solidworks.
If you are interested in them for reference only...let me know.
The plans for...

History question: homebuilt pushers by
[email protected]
I was just looking back through the EAA Modern Mechanix Flying and
Gilder Manuals. None of the aircraft depicted were pushers -- except
for the Wright Flyers and some early Curtiss. In poking around for
old flying boat designs, I've found lots of pushers.
Does anyone know of any home built...

I've been studying airplane projects to build myself alone but also
have thought about forming a high school aviation club to build an
airplane. There is at least one one high school building the...

Shop Friday by
[email protected]
Gravity is silent. The stately tick-tock of the pendulum clock is the
only sound in the shop, the lathes and mills lurking beneath their
shrouds as I try to reason with Mr. Ohaus. Unlike the clock, which is
made of wood, Mr. Ohaus is a man of metal but both are powered by
gravity. A spate of...

Zenith Aircraft and Pull Type Rivets by

CC: Zenith Aircraft Company
I have an aeronautical engineer friend retired from McDonnell
Douglas who once was in charge of the Harrier project for the U.S.
team. I respect his opinion which is that pull type, "pop" rivets are
only used on aircraft where a bucked rivet could not possibly be...
