Men Who Sew by
[email protected]
To All:
I learned to sew as a boy, repairing the harness for a mule named
'Bea,' which I later learned was short for Beelzebub after she taught
me I had a lot to learn as a mule skinner. But there was a war on,
gasoline was rationed, Victory Gardens were required and Bea, suitably
shod, brushed...

Volatility Question about Mixing Fuels by
Kyle Boatright
My understanding is that 100LL has a relatively low volatility to reduce the
chance of vapor lock. Whereas Mogas often has a higher volatility.
With this in mind, what happens to the volatility if I mix 50% 100LL with
50% Mogas? Is the volatility of the mix the straight average of the two...

Welding a 5052-0 Fuel Tank by
jls
Anybody got any pointers on this. A friend had an aluminum tank
welded and it leaked. He thinks it was because a different aluminum
was used for the welding rod. I dunno. I'm a novice on welding.
This tank has a big dent on top and we may need to drill a hole or two
from the bottom of the...

Spinner, aluminium or fibreglass? Safety? by
Rob Turk
I'm trying to select a suitable spinner for our Rans S6S. Besides looks,
weight and airflow I'm a bit worried about safety. There are several options
in terms of material and mechanical construction, and I'd like to hear what
experience you have with any particular type. One thing I'm wondering...

I've started to mount the fuel tanks in my project. It is a plans

The plans called for retractable gear that I decided I didn't want on
my first plane, so
instead Ive made fuel tanks to go in this area of the wing. I have
