Everyone who wants an email reply to a thread couches his address as follows: My initials plus my last name (commercial "at" sign) and a period with that google thingy type email extension. Is in only because I use Thunderbird as my news feed reader, because I can see your email in the "From"...

LXNav S80 latest firmware by ZP
I loaded the latest firmware and got a peculiar issue. The numbers around the vario rosette are not displayed when the units are US or English. They display fine in metric units. I reloaded it twice and got the same result.. Anyone seen this problem but me? -Dirk

Oklahoma Diamonds by Tony[_5_]
As far as I know, the first two diamond altitude gains ever made in Oklahoma were accomplished yesterday. Wind was SW at about 40 knots and consistent up to at least 30,000 ft. I launched just before 8:30 AM in the Silent 2 Electro (THANK YOU LEO AND JENNIFER!) and found the secondary right next...

Oudie Questions by Randy Teel
I am using an Oudie with my LX5000 and for some unknown reason, the Oudie will not properly download the flights. It used to work on a regular basis. When I am attempting the downloads, everything looks like it is working properly, but when I go to view the files, there are not there. I do not have...

Phantom flights? by [email protected]
I'm not the OLC police, but these flights are extremely odd. Taking off with an ASH-25 from Lost River Resort, even with a 260 Pawnee would be sketchy. Self launch is out of the question. (Especially when the airfield is covered with snow) Also, None of the N numbers on this fellow's stable of...

Fuses on the panel, or not by SF
My big winter glider project is going to be re-doing my control panel. I have been looking at a lot of panel pictures recently and I notice that a lot of them have panel mounted fuse holders all over them. My experience with our panel mounted electronic gizmos is that if they blow a fuse,...

41 Headed West by [email protected]
Some of you remember Walter Cawby, he was an active contest flier for years and a retired airline captain. Walter gave up flying gliders a few years back and still flew his beloved Baron. Walter was always interested in sailplanes, competed all over the country and his wife Kay was a;ways a big...

Why are so many Stemme S10-VT motorgliders for sale? by VARR
There appear to be a number of Stemme S10-VT motorgliders for sale. Take the wings and wheels motorglider listings. Usually I might see 1 for sale, today there are at least 4. http://wingsandwheels.com/want-ads10.htm Are these people already upgrading to the Antares? ;-) I'm not trolling, but...

Schweizer 1-34 Tail Tie Down? by Papa3[_2_]
The manual is a bit vague on what fixture is used to tie down an SGS 1-34 tail. Almost every single seat Schweizer I can remember has some sort of eye bolt in the lower empennage area. What's the scoop with a 1-34? I'm not near the gliderport and the question came up in our club newsgroup. ...
