My "old" chute needs replacing and before I plunk down the money on a brand new chute, I thought I would ask if anyone has a chute for sale that is 10 years or less old. Thanks. Contact me at jhderosa at yahoo.com.

Manfred Radius Flies at Sun n Fun by Charlie Papa[_2_]
The legendary Manfred Radius will fly at Sun n Fun this weekend: his pyro-illuminated night show on Saturday, and his day show, with its beware-the-pucker tail-slide to inverted ribbon cut on Sunday afternoon. If you've never had the chance to see Manfred perform, check out his website...

The up and down sides of rotors relative to ridges by son_of_flubber
Mulling over a wave flight from last October and realized that I'd gotten it into my head (perhaps erroneously) that the up (lift) side of rotor is usually closer to the upwind ridge than the down side (sink) of the rotor. So for example, if I persist in heading closer towards the slope/ridge...

Canopy Ejection and Canopy Lanyard by Casey[_2_]
Does anyone un-secure their canopy lanyard prior to take off? Just wondering if the lanyard would break during a canopy ejection or if the lanyard would cause the canopy to whirl about and pop the pilot in the head. Mine and others I've seen have a clip on at least one end.

Double Release Failure on Tow by Piet Barber
I'm sure a few people here have practiced it... but I really need to know: Has it ever actually happened? I mean, has there ever been a bona fide certified, verified example of both release hooks failing in flight? The glider can't release, the glider gives the signal, the tow plane can't...

Does How a (Sailplane) Pilot Thinks, Matter? by BobW
Thought I'd start a new thread, kinda-sorta forked off one "festering" in "The Boy Who Flew With Condors" thread (which I re-watched last night for the first time in decades; cool!)... On the card is a Grudge Match between two (irreconcilable?) schools of thought. Will there be a WINNAH?!? In...

I have searched Google, YouTube and Vimeo and cannot locate any video of someone applying Mylar control surface gap coverings. If someone out there has videoed this could you please upload it to YouTube or Vimeo? Thanks. I don't want to attempt this until I've seen it done.

Pribina Cup 2016 - Slovakia - Mid-Air? by Renny[_2_]
Amazingly on the local news in Albuquerque, NM there was a report on a glider mid-air in Slovakia on April 2 at the Pribina Cup. On the contest website there was a mention of an "incident" and that all tasks were cancelled yesterday. It also said that all pilots were OK....which is really great...
