"Interesting" NY Times Article by
Steve R.
That's an interesting one. Thanks for sharing.
I'm curious why they can't account for the hours flown. The article
indicates that they don't have data on past hours flown so they can't
speculate whether or not the increase in accidents has anything to do with
an increased number of hours flown...

Where is the data tag located on a UH-1H helicopter. Is their any other
location the serial number might be on the helicopter other than on the data
tag.

VIDEO: Sea King tailrotor failure during landing on a ship by
hellothere.adelphia.net
The co-pilot is responsible for the throttle. During takeoff and
landings his hands are on it at all times.
Fly an A-Star, other then the B3 version, the throttle is not on the
collective.

Crop Dusting - NIGHT by
[email protected]
Since the subject of night flying came up, I thought I'd toss out a
little about night spraying with helicopters and airplanes. I've done
both and prefer the helicopter. Both are OK when properly equipped but
the airplanes move faster and take more time to cover a given field
with their long...

Almost like I know what I'm doing... by
The OTHER Kevin in San Diego
Flew at 10am yesterday and damned if I didn't fly like I knew what the
hell I was doing...
I'd been eyeballing the weather since I woke up at 6 and DUATS said
it'd be relatively clear until the early evening so I hopped on the
bike and headed to work - wanted to squeeze in a couple hours before...

Flying backwards causes gyrations? by
John Doe
I recall hearing mention of something like this before. While doing a
simulation, probably moving backwards, the helicopter tale began
swaying back and forth uncontrollably.
Is that the way it is in real life?
How do you get out of that? Avoid moving backwards?
Besides trying to tilt the chopper...

Surviving with a broken pitch link by
Oliver Kunze
Hi,
I am wondering what the consequences of a broken rotating pitch link of a =
4-bladed rotor will be. From my understanding, the free-to-pitch blade will
eventually come to a high angle of attack that the airloads will crush its
structure and if not the debris will destroy the other rotor...

Flight in severe Sink/Wave by
Shaber CJ
About 18 months ago there was a couple week period with many shark sightings
off the Southern Califonia coast. During this time I was flying a helicopter
south along the Coast line just North of Santa Barbara. I was on the lee side
of the coastal mountain range, which at this time was an off shore...

Helicopter headsets David Clark 10-37 2 pair with brand new Oregon Aero ear

One set is perfect but the other set got more use and the cord is frayed at
the plug end which is a cheap fix. $200 for both sets. If I have to break
them up I'll take $150 and $100 that should cover the cost of the...

I am looking for someone who has used the Flight Link hardware with either
