H-500, 269HM Allison C-18 to C-20 upgrade experience? by
HMills16
Looking for opinions from folks who have done this. We have three OH-6A's with
C-18's and are nearing our last "in the can" engine. What is the availability
of C-20's to public use operators such as police? Who has done the mod and can
tell me what is required (new short shaft, ect?). I am...

Probably seen this, but a fun read (again) by
John
1. Every takeoff is optional. Every landing is mandatory.
2. If you push the stick forward, the houses get bigger. If you pull the
stick back, they get smaller. That is, unless you keep pulling the stick
all the way back, then they get bigger again.
3. Flying isn't dangerous. Crashing is what's...

Q: What can a Commercial Helicopter Pilot Licence holder expect to earn? by
Trentus
I have a number of options for the use of a recent inheritance, one of which
is to fullfil a lifetime desire to fly choppers.
What could a Helicopter Pilot expect to earn, flying in Australia?
I realise this may be a little like asking, "How long is a piece of string?"
(A: twice as long as half...

Addon heli rating, does it require a written? by
Eric D
If you have a private pilot fixed wing license are you required to
take a written test of some type for adding helicopter rating? If
yes, what is the written and is it different then what a non-license
student would have to take?

FS: Kaflex Driveshafts -new surplus- SKCP2348-5 by
Tom
I have a few new (old stock) Kalfex driveshafts for sale. I had these
re-inspected two weeks ago at an FAA/Bell certified center. Each shaft
comes with an 8130 hard card w/ JAA permissions. These fit the Bell
OH-58 and I have a copy of an STC that shows this exact Kamatics p/n:
SKCP2348-5 being...

Helicycle Elastomeric Bearings? by
[email protected]
I just came across the patent to the R22 hub system and quickly
discovered that it does not use elastomneric bearings as I had been
told. The hub design, at least externally, appears to be very similar
to that which is used on the helicycle and mini-500.
The photos I have of the helicycle hub...

Gyro Rotor Wing Toy Kite by

A Google search didn't turn up anything so let me appeal direct. Some
years ago I saw a vendor selling a little plastic toy gyrocopter at a
PRA Fly-In that flew much like a kite in the wind at the end of a
line. Over the next couple years I saw the same toy at EAA events such
as Lakeland and...
