(AFS-800) finally reversed itself and is now allowing the use of hand-held
VOR and GPS on Private, Commercial and Instrument FAA check rides.
So, if your...

Need Micro Balancer by
Jim
I am looking for a Micro balancer for my Mini-500. While it is very smooth
in most conditions I wil want to use a micro balancer in the future as
future preventive maintenance will tend to cause changes to current
settings. Must be a 100 or so out there now with no use because most
Mini-500 owners...

heli flying - which would be more fun/useful Schweizer 300C or a Bell 47G by
Charles Morrice
You are comparing apples and oranges. A Schweizer is still in production
and parts/support available; a G is long out of production and parts are
harder and harder to find.
If you want to fly lots rather than drive an antique a Schweizer is for you.
In my humble opinion.

where can you fly? by
Armitage Shanks
Hi,
Once you're a qualified private pilot, where can you/can't you fly?
For instance, say I spot an interesting cloud formation. Can I just
take off, fly up to it, ascend the vertical walls of the cloud and fly
through its troughs and valleys in exploration of a formation that
will only ever occur...

Why do gyros use tilt head rather than swashplate by
Phillip
Would a gyro with a swashplate ( just for pitch control) fly any different
(better, worse) than using a tilt type rotor head? Just more complex?
Also, I've seen some photos of early kit helicopters that appear to have
just a tilting head (no way to auto-rotate ?). Isn't this a bit of a death
wish?...

Mating Huey T/R blades and hub by
Brian
I recently got a Bell 204 tail rotor hub assembly for the pair of
blades I have, but am having difficulty attaching them. Is there some
secret to getting them together? The blades are a REALLY tight fit
into the grips.
Thanks,
Brian

Where are they now by
Its the Kleeneze Man
Its been about two years since I last looked at this NG.
What's happened the to the old regulars...
Fly Giros,
Badwater Bill,
Ron Pilot,
There was a guy that flew for PHI but can't remember his name. Had a lot of
respect for him. Always answered questions clearly, concisely and with
humour.
