How to practice premolded construction bonding by
[email protected]
Hey all,
I'm looking at starting to build a premolded composite quickbuild kit
within the next few months. I'm looking to get as much practice
glassing before I get started. I've already been to the EAA sportair
composite construction shop and it was awesome. Some people recommended
to get an RC...

Stall strips vs. Washout by
[email protected]
I've noticed a lot of aircraft are designed to use washout at the tips
to control stall behaviour. The idea as it was explained was that they
wanted the inboard part of the wing to stall before the outboard part
so aileron authority could be maintained a little longer.
I've also seen mention of...

Removing cherokee wings.. by
pho
Hi,
Has anyone had experience with removing the wings on a Cherokee 140?
Need to move it to rebuild. How hard is it to re-install them. I heard
something about tapered pins or bolts.. Pete

Cozy, Long ezy, and diesel engine. by
LCT Paintball
Please excuse my ignorance, but I've been reading a lot of hoopla over 2
stroke diesel aircraft engines. Has anybody tried one of these in a Cozy or
Long Ezy? It sounds to me like that may make for a very fuel efficient
aircraft with good performance. Any reason why it can't be done?
If the...

Recoil starters on small 2-stroke engines by
[email protected]
Many of the small 2-stroke engines appear to have the recoil
starter positioned so that as one faced the engine the starter
is on the right and the prop on the left. With this configuration
when right-handed person uses their right hand to start the
engine the rest of their body is between the...

Aeriks 200 by
Juan Jimenez
Does anyone know what happened to AceAir in Switzerland, the company that
had that cool composite homebuilt, the Aeriks 200, at OSH '03? Both their
websites are gone, though they still show up in a whois search.

Looking for 3/8 in-24 thread/low profile self locking nuts/ by
Larry
I need 2 low profile nuts as noted above for my lower engine mounts.
Can't seem to locate them anywhere. Aircraft Spruce does not carry them
and they say they are only made for specific aircraft application. Any
ideas where I can find them? Thanks.

Interior Fire Protection? by
greenwavepilot
I have been trying to research interior fire protection for use in
homebuilt aircraft, but really haven't been able to find much useful
information. I am not talking about extinguishers which I consider
"active" protection in that you must be able to reach it and activate
it, but "passive"...

As a pet/learning project I made a data aquisition unit using an 8051

EPIA M causes way too much noise to the aircraft radios. I have tried
shielding the...
