Propeller Planes by
Vytautas
Hello everybody! x)
Very soon, in the end of January, I am flying to Georgia with a propeller passage plane. This will be my first trip with a propeller plane. How many of you have already flown with such an aircraft? How different is a trip by a propeller aircraft from a trip by a non-propeller...

Need software upgrade for Bendix/King KLX-100 GPSCOMM by
Stan
Hello,
I just acquired a used KLX-100 and find that it has an older version of the
operating system installed (this is not the same as the aviation database,
which I also need to update). I am looking for version 2.0 or greater, and
the Bendix/King web site seems to offer no assistance. Does...

Cermichrome cylindes by
Eclipsme
About 15 years back, I owned a 1976 C182. I had the engine remanufactured
and used cermichromed cylinders, which were relatively new back then. The
rings seemed to seat pretty much immediately, as I remember, and oil use
diminished from around 1 qt per 3 hours to none (or nearly so)! I was...

Airport will close Wednesday.
The airport will cease operations at noon. Most aircraft have already been
moved to other airports.
The airport was built in 1921 as Grisard Field....

Would you cycle the gear? by
Roy Smith
I had an interesting experience the other day.
I was with a student in one of our club Arrows. We put the gear down
and got green lights for the 2 mains, but not for the nose.
The nose green light was flashing, as was the yellow "gear in transit"
light. Both were flashing about twice per...

Piper Arrow electric fuel-pump by
MC
Anybody know how for long the electric fuel-pump
in a fuel-injected Piper-Arrow IV can be
operated for.?
indefinitely ? or intermitantly ?
The POH is somewhat vague as it says that the
electric pump can be turned-off in cruise and
I haven't spotted a limitation in the POH yet.
The reason I ask,...

Secondary Stall by

http://w3n-a.blogspot.com/2008/12/secondary-stall.html
This stall is called a secondary stall since it may occur after a
recovery from a preceding stall. It is caused by attempting to hasten
the completion of a stall recovery before the airplane has regained
sufficient flying speed. When this...

"The Aviator" by
Orval Fairbairn
My wife and I went to see "The Aviator" yesterday.
Comments:
The planes and some of the flying sequences were great -- especially the
S-38 and the reproduction of the H-1 and the CGI of some of the other
planes.
Acting: Leonardo DiCaprio should *never* have been cast as a pilot! His
"flying"...
