Honiley Aerobatics Competition by
Sasquatch
Hi,
Sorry to intrude but I was wondering if anyone has information about
the Honiley Aerobatics Competition between the wars? I have a watch
(rather battered) with the inscription "Presented to Alfred John
Phillips, Winner of the Honiley Aerobatics Competition 3 years running
1934 1935 1936)" ...

Right prop, wrong prop? Wood prop, metal prop? by
Gus Rasch
Group,
Two different questions. Looking for your input.
#1
Flew my S1S with an O-360 180hp and swinging a metal Sensenich prop
76-56. This combination has always been easy to overspeed the engine.
On climb out at full throttle I have to maintain 85 mph indicated or
it will exceed 2700 rpm. In...

Older Decathlon - airframe abuse? by
[email protected]
Me and couple buddies are considering buying a early 80's model 8KCAB
but I am a little worried about doing sportsman level aerobatics in a
plane that old. Not having owned a plane before I was wondering if
anyone on the group have experience with older decathlons and how they
hold up to that type...

How long are our re packs good for? by
Viperdoc[_6_]
I saw in either Flying or AOPA Pilot that the FAA has passed the request so
that our chute packs are now good for 180 and not 120 days.
When does it take effect? Is my pack that just expired actually still good?
TIA

Accident site found: Landing gear from Bulldog? by
SEG
Hi.
I'm new to this list and I am not a pilot.
On a recent hike in Northern California, our group stumbled upon an
aviation accident site. The wreckage included part of a wing and
part of a landing gear. No tail number was evident. We notified
the forest rangers, but I am not yet convinced that...

WAC 2007 by
[email protected]
Hi,
I wanted to follow the WAC2007 event but the official homepage (http://
www.rfae.org/WAC2007/home_en.htm) looks very static and un-updated. It
started yesterday. I would love if someone has a link to another site
which actually tell what is happening :-)
The WGAC2007 page...

Detached Retina and acrobatics by
[email protected]
Any opinions or referrals to informaiton about the (in)advisability of
acrobatics (perhaps even limited to positive, 6G) after having a
detached retina repaired? 55 years old and no obvious reason for the
detachment (although the doctor thought Judo and acrobatics probably
didn't help :)

Misguided new policy at Palm Springs Air Museum by
Wings Of Fury
CAMERA BAGS ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED AT THE PSAM. Went down there today
to see the B-25 flight, and they would not let me in, period.
Backpacks are also not allowed. BUT they will continue to allow women
to bring in those bigass purses of theirs......something stinks.......

Hickory NC Airport Flight Pattern by
HBYardSale
I'm looking at a house that is about 1 mile north of the airport -- right in
the flight path of the north-south runway.
I would like to find out how many planes a day fly in/out of the airport and
typically how many of these use the N-S runway.
Any help or a referral would be greatly appreciated.

Johnny Vasey and his Wasp Stearman by
Glenn Jacobs
I am looking for photos of Johnny Vasey Wasp Stearman. If anyone knows of
a sourse or if they have pictures that they would be willing to share I
would appreciate it. I used to watch Johnny fly as a youth in Austin,
Minn. and would like to model his plane.

Any Information on Super Stinker (S1-11B) by
Martin Morgan
Gidday.
Does anyone here have any useful information about the Super Stinker
that could help me in my decision about building one?
Yes I've flown S1's and 2(a)'s. I've read Budd Davisson's articles and I
own the plans.
Thanks.
