Slap-On Sun Visor by
jeplane
You find them at Sportys or auto parts for example. Easy to apply-just
"slap on" and they stay put. Use it over and over just by peeling off
and slapping on again.
Have you guys found this type of visor easy to use?
If not, what do you use to protect yourself under your...

Type of glue by
jeplane
I need to glue a Schleicher tail skid on my ASW19.
1- What type of glue would you use?
2- Can the tail skid tape be the same as the wings tape?
Thanks for the comments
Richard

Cessna 182 Tost 337? by
[email protected]
I've had a Schweitzer tow hook jam on a Cessna 182.
As we are about to put a tow hook on another Cessna 182, I would
really prefer a Tost (like we have on the Pawnee and the Maule), for
safety and so that we can share the same tow rope. :-)
Does anyone know of a Tost 337 or STC for a Cessna...

Sun-N-Fun, soaring at Seminole Lake Gliderport? by
[email protected]
Is anyone else going to Sun-N-Fun in Lakeland, FL, Apr 4-110, 2006?
I go a few days early to do some soaring and seaplanes. :-)
My schedule at Seminole Lake Gliderport is Monday, Apr 3, 1-3PM
in the Grob-103. It usually takes a few minutes of paperwork and
logbook review, 2 pops and I'm checked...

C182 tow hook arrangement? by
[email protected]
I'm looking for a way to put a Tost release mechanism on a C182R.
We have a Tost release on the Pawnee, and it looks so much more
robust than the Schweitzer mechanism.
Wings and Wheels has the Tost arrangement for C172 and Maule, but in
Colorado, Civil Air Patrol has neither of those...

Soaring near Paris, France (Not Texas :-) by
[email protected]
Greetings, all!
My work will take me to Paris, France Nov 3-10, 2004.
Would you please be so kind as to forward me contact information
for a glider club or operation where I might fly as a guest
on the weekend of Nov 6-7, 2004?
I don't need to solo or go cross-country... just a "friend"
ride...

US mountain flying Colorado by

Interesting reading about mountain training and mountain flying
(gliders) in France. Thank you for posting the questions and
answers.
Several times a year, some of the Colorado Soaring clubs
re-locate to mountain airports to fly for the weekend...
often Memorial Day weekend, 4th of July and...

Winch operations in MN? by
[email protected]
My understanding is that Frank Whiteley and Bill Daniels qualified a
commercial operator and several local pilots/CFIs on winch
operations somewhere in Minnesota.
Please tell me which airport and operator contact info?
Were any of you there?
Have you heard about this?

WTB: 1-34 Horizontal Stabilizer by
Jeremy Zawodny
Our club's 1-34 (which we've owned since new) recently lost half the
elevator when a wood piece broke on its open trailer. If anyone knows
of a damaged 1-34 with an intact horizontal stabilizer, I'd love to hear
about it.
Thanks,
Jeremy

I need to be in the San Diego area for a conference in early March and

this before, going to Pasadena and flying two days at Great Western

What percentage of USA glider pilots compete? by
Jeremy Zawodny
I'm curious to know if anyone knows what percentage of USA based glider
pilots fly in official contests (less formal individual club contests
are less interesting to me). If I were to use my personal contacts (the
pilots I fly with), I'd put the number around 10-15% but given the
amount of...
