question for RNA folks by
O'Neil
About 10 yrs ago, the late Martin Caidin had
written a book called "Ghosts Of The Air". It
was a compilation of interviews he conducted
with military and civilian aviators.
The topic of conversation in those interviews,
were unexplained 'supernatural', or otherwise
outright 'paranormal'...

FMS Status Of A-6E by
Charles Bethune
Once the A-6E was retired a few years back, Congress approved the
aircraft for Foreign Military Sales. At one point in time France
expressed interest in the A-6E to be used as a shore based tanker.
There does not seem to be much information going around on the
aircraft slated for FMS. Not counting...

Memorial Day Poem #44, "The Long Road" by
Otis Willie
Memorial Day Poem #44, "The Long Road"
They say it is a long road from youth to adulthood;
I say it is but the blink of an eye.
One day a child with a football or bat,
The next day a man in combat.

V-22 Mishap Probe Prompts US Fleet Restrictions
By Stephen Trimble
Believing a design defect aboard the Bell-Boeing V-22 is likely to
blame for a second in-flight engine fire, the US Navy has placed a

I don't know if the Navy ever flew any of these or not, but for some

Interesting F-100 story.... by
Greasy Rider @ invalid.com
The F-100 had an interesting ground starting option, a large chamber
that received a large gas generating cartridge. When ignited by
electrical current, the expanding gas from the black powder-like
pyrotechnic cartridge drove a starter turbine which brought the engine
up to a self-sustaining rpm...

Corsair / Hellcat Discussion by
Jack G[_2_]
Not a "Which was the best fighter" but a discussion of the strengths -
weaknesses of each. Since the Hellcat had limited post WW II use, I would
like to limit discussion to the WW II service of each type. I would be
especially interested in any comments about the Fleet Air Arm (British) use...

F-35, not F-22, to Protect U.S. Airspace by
David E. Powell
Well if more F-35s get built than F-22s, and or the budget for them is
cheaper, down the road it stands to reason that Air National Guard
units will get F-35s, though F-16s and F-15s will likely be in service
stateside for many years to come.
If you just want speed for the ANG, one can always...
