Sunday was a good day for soaring. I was able to soar
in clear air to 16,053 ft MSL for an altitude gain
of over 13K near Hutchinson Ks.
My question is did anyone else experience similar conditions
in the flatlands?

Wave in Utah on September 30th by
Tim Taylor
Amazing wave yesterday, the best defined I have ever seen running for several hundred miles north and south. I had to work and had to just look at it from the ground.
Several gliders flew out of Morgan. 2KA covered 600 km with a launch after 3 pm at 164 kph (102 mph). Hopefully we will get more...

Wave Off on Early Tow Question by
Michael Pitoniak
Folks,
Is there a prefered policy on how to handle a wave off from the tug
in the first several hundred feet on tow. General policy dictates a
turn back to the field should be into the wind, but if the tug is
truly having difficulties his normal tendancy would be to do the same
thing, causing a...

and it seems like this started to form later in the day and covered a
decent part of each of these states. I'm wondering if this wave...

Wave Over Moriarty by
Dan Marotta
I made my first tow around 1000 this morning and entered rotor at the
departure end. Within a mile of the airport and at 1,800' AGL (8,000' MSL)
there was smooth wave lift. I made 13 tows today, 12 rides and one private
glider, and all stayed up.
Sure wish I'd been soaring instead of...

Wave Soaring using vis sat maps? by
Waveguru

If you hit the bounce button, and slide the speed bar all the way to the right, the wave bands show up clearly. Is there a way to overlay an image like this over our moving maps in the cockpit? Sure would make it easier, eh? It is not always easy to see these wave bands...
