Tach 100rpm low by
Ben Smith
Hello -
Our mechanic verified my hunch that our tachometer is reading 100rpm low.
(At all ranges). Should the tach be repaired, or replaced? (Or left
alone?) Also, if I get a new one, is there a way to have the indicated
hours made the same as the existing one?
TIA

Best price Aeroshell 10W-50W? Where to buy from? by
Paul Millner
P L E A S E get me a
stock number. If I can get that, my local Sam's might be able to
order it from distribution.
Sams in Concord, CA used to have 15-50, I know they have 100. I'll look
next time I'm over there, and write down the number.

Corrosion X Applicators by
Hankal
Corrosion X applicators.
Some shops just mist or fog Corrosion X into the fuselage.
Others will use long wands and spray it into the wings.
Which is better or which is recommended by the manufacturer?

American Safety Flight Systems seat belts -- Help! by
Paul Millner
Now that my daughter is in a belt-positioning booster, the belt is about
8" too short to go around her plus the seat
Contact Aircraft Belts in Kemah Texas, they'll reweb that one belt 10"
longer for you, and you're in... when I've been in a hurry, they've done one
day turnarounds for me.

New Prop on my Mooney Ovation by
Charles Talleyrand
I have read that the main difference between the Ovation and the Ovation II is the better prop on the second airplane. Can one
install the new prop on the old model. It's the same airplane and the same engine between both the Ovation and Ovation II, so the
only worries are legal ones.
Finally, I...

Did you ever have a real estate agent tell you that you can make money

Did you believe that?
My real-estate investments have *way* outperformed my stock investments the last
couple of years. :-)

Ham Radio In The Airplane by
Cy Galley
Why not wire one ear cup for your aviation and the other cup for ham
operations? If there are no connections then you should be able to hear
both. Use a hand held mic for one or the other.

NTSB 830.5 & 830.15? by

Anyone happen to have these two NTSB regs handy? I'm reviewing for my BFR
on Monday (haven't been flying for about 5 years) and haven't been able to
access the NTSB site (www.ntsb.gov?). Thanks.

Priming the engine and Mag check questions by
JDupre5762
A person told me it is better to push the primer slowly rather
then quick shots.
Slower is better on pulling out the primer as this allows the primer cylinder
to draw in all the fuel it can take. Pushing the charge in quickly is probably
best as the velocity may help in atomizing the...

I was always taught that if a subject started in the newsgroups, it STAYED in

thread in these groups, I'm getting an email request for more information.
Please, if it starts in these groups, let's KEEP...

Cirrus vs Mooney by

As I understand it, a Cirrus has a much more roomy cabin, 100 lbs higher useful load, no retractable landing gear to maintain, is 10
kts slower, and costs $100,000 less. Why would anyone buy a Mooney?
Heck, a new Cirrus costs less than a recently used Mooney. Who here would pick a two year old...
