Another NOTAM stupidity by
Roy Smith
I just discovered an evil stupidity in our notam system, far more evil and
stupid than anything I've seen before.
I was doing a BFR for somebody today. I checked the notams and found these:
!ISP 04/002 IGN R5206 ACT WEF 0604041300-0604042230
!ISP 03/059 IGN R5206 ACT WEF...

[email protected]
Hi All,
I am trying to design a webpage that will calculate fuel consumption
for common passenger aircraft (mostly Boeing and Airbus models to
start). My guess is that the key variables would be distance traveled,
aircraft type, and (as a proxy for weight), percent full. I know other
variables...

Are Your Heroes Cowboys? by

I now see the guy as a prick based not only on this, but added to what
a whole bunch of what folks who know him say. Make your own
determination and if you get a chance, flip him off at OSH.

GAC Questions by
Paul Tomblin
Hey, the Oshkosh NOTAM is out, so I'm starting to dream about it.
Does anybody know if portable generators are allowed in General Aviation
Camping? We're thinking of running an hour or two during the day (NOT AT
NIGHT) to recharge the digital cameras, laptops, etc.
Is it going to be full if I...

Roy Smith
We so often read about cities neglecting airports; here's a good story

Review of One Six Right DVD by
Bob Fry
First impressions after viewing the main picture and extra features.
It's quite professionally done, but ultimately it's not a flying or
aviation DVD, it's the history of Van Nuys Airport. Thus, unless
you're familiar with the airport--I'm not--it can be a little boring.
I found myself hitting...

But is the compact flash card written with the Sandisk writer
similarly GPS unit specific? I cannot see how it could be. Is there
any way to write out a backup flash card for example (I have a spare
flash card from BK).
Yes, if I understand your question...
