Juan Jimenez
x-no-archive: yes
If you own a Garmin iQue 3600a (not the plain 3600) or a Lowrance 2000c, I'd
like to hear your opinion and comments on these units... good, bad or
neutral.

zzzzz His latest SnF rant by
[email protected]
Anyone see zzzzooms latest SnF rant? He must be off his medication
again. I had a hint of this last January at the Sebring LSA show. He
accused me of stalking him. All I did was take his picture, something
he has done many times to me. When he saw me with the camera he told
me that I should leave...

Tube Fuse Oil Holes by
John[_17_]
Does anybody still do the old technique of drilling holes before tacking
tubes together to interconnect them for oiling the fuse when it's
finished? I've been told that's not done any more, because of the
realization that as long as the welds are air tight, the oxygen trapped
in the tube is...

700lbs? by
wesleymarceaux[_2_]
I know this will not do much for unbelievers, But I have no problem
believing that an 1835 engine with a belt reduction system would fly an
airplane with a takeoff weight of 1050lb's.. The performance didn't look to
be that bad either. I think a good 1835 vw engine with reduction can do...

It doesn't fly, BUT... by
Bart[_2_]
I hope I'm not intruding here, but I'm building a car with a plywood
monocoque chassis bonded to fiberglass body panels. It's not as
bizarre as it may sound: the chassis design is based partly on that of
the Marcos GT, which used exactly that model of construction. The
chassis designer was Frank...

Snobird Gyro by
Joaquin Murrieta
Oh, by the way, go to: http://www.geocities.com/bwbpilot/ and see
Kevin Morris and I flying my Snobird. I have to sell it I think. I
just have too much stuff in my hangars down there. I'm in this thing
about $12,000 and I'm going to sell it for about $8500 if anyone knows
someone who might...

Anyone know how to update an old Loran database? by
Tom Jackson
I have looked around on the 'net, and cannot find any reference to being
able to update an old Apollo loran database (like can be done with the
modern GPS units.)
I have an Apollo 604, with the latest update (1999, I think.)
It seems to me, that there must be some tech-wizards out there who...

OSH question by
Bill Chernoff
I am thinking about getting a booth at OSH to show off our Digital Readouts
(see www.star-techno.com) . I have heard both good and bad things about
being a vendor there. Bad: booth costs $2500 for 10x10, Good: tons and tons
of people.
Does anyone know how many attendees are actually builders, as...

Military Diesel Bike Engine by
sanman
I was reading this thing:
http://www.drive.cranfield.ac.uk/cfml/dieselmotorbike4.cfm
Could this work for a small helicopter, like the kind BJ Schramm was marketing?
Comments?

Alternator teststand by
Nathan Young
I want to build a teststand where I can test an alternator.
I plan on fabricating a test stand for the alternator.
I have a variable voltage source capable of driving enough current to
'drive' the field.
I have a dummy load to sink the output current.
What I need is a variable speed electric...

BD5-B by
Regnirps
So, would I have to be insane to buy a complete BD5-B kit? I still remember the
outrageous performance claims when the ads first appeared.
What do people use for engines? (I think I can lay my hands on a Czech MiG APU
and I have a buddy who is an expert on the Formula Mazda engines).

As promised, here on this Newsgroup about six weeks ago, I've posted a snapshot
of a rib gusset made from fiberglas drywall tape and polyurethane glue.
The photo is in the Files archive of the Fly5kfiles Group on Yahoo, in the
Practice Wing folder.
Other rib gusset experiments of...

Rubber Bushing Replacement by
Boelkowj
I have a 0200A Continental engine with total hrs (600hrs) and thinking maybe I
should change out the rubber engine mount bushings only because they have been
on the plane for 25+ years. They look fine but maybe a little sag on the bottom
ones. Is this usually just an eye ball assessment or a "must...
