Ungrateful Americans Unworthy of the French by
The Black Monk
The French
by Gary Brecher
The new big thing on the web is all these sites with names like "I
Hate France," with supposed datelines of French military history,
supposedly proving how the French are total cowards. If you want to
see a sample of this dumbass Frog bashing, try...

Russian Military Technology by

Napoleon and Hitler tought they could defeat Mother Russia. They said
Mother Russia was a total mess.
Mother Russia is 1,500 years old and she has never been defeated.
America is like 230 years old, America has a lot of learning to do.
America has never been invaded in the same scale Mother...

General Patton on Lieutenant Kerry by
S. Sampson
In May 1972, the Boston Phoenix reported that Kerry had defiantly
given his medals back to the U.S. government during one of his many
protests. New York Times columnist Bill Keller wrote in September
2002 that the senator invited him to view 40 minutes of films Kerry
made depicting his war...

fighter pilot hours? by
Cub Driver
I fly about 50 hours a year and wish I could do more, just to stay in
the groove.
Could I have stayed current in a jet fighter, flying about 140 hours a
year?
Thanks!
all the best -- Dan Ford

Counter rotating propellers by

I've had a questions I'd like to foist upon the collective knowledge
here...
I have a few of those "World's Worst Airplane" books and enjoy reading
about the creations of those in the old days who were basically working
by the seat of their pants.
I've noticed that their were many planes during...

Shot at/Shot back by
Bob McKellar
We keep bringing up presidents/candidates getting shot at (
"We" includes me, I confess ). But today a related issue
popped into my head.
After all the discussion of Kerry's VN history, I wondered
if we have had any other recent ( last 75 years or so )
presidents or major contenders who have...

Area bombing is not a dirty word. by
ArtKramr
60 years of hindsight with some revisionism thrown in have obscured the
original intent of attacking an enemy from the air. I only flew one (of 50)
mission
over cloud cover using GEE. We didn't call it area bombing. We didn't call it
blind bombing. Those are words are now used to stake out an...

IVAN--Pensacola NMNA survived (unconfirmed report) by
old hoodoo
Being a relatively new building, and I think built with private funds
to the newer building codes, the National Museum of Naval Aviation has
initially been reported to have weathered the storm intact which is what
was expected (with crossed fingers I presume) from such a structure.
Only a one...

This questions has been killing me, what is the name of the leading
edge flaps that you find on airliners for example. Ive heard the name
slats, but I know there is another name for it.

Marines unable to take Fallujah by

The Commandant of the Marines said today, that his troops "will
not be able to enter Fallujah, Iraq for years." He said that until that
time, they will have to "rely on the Air Force ability to collect airborne
intelligence," and try and "plink them into submission."
"They have enough weapons and...

China to acquire Backfires? by

it's acquisition attempts regarding the Backfire, and if so, how many would
they end up with?
Second, what does this mean to the the US? Backfires are a viable...

Anyone know why the AIM-54 Phoenix is carried only by the F-14?? Why hasnt
the air-force developed a long range air to air missile like the phoenix? As
far as I know, the AIM-120 is about the longest range modern missile they
have in their arsenal.

PROOF THAT NEOCONS ARE STUPID by
ArtKramr
The vast majority of university professors and scholars are Democratic
liberals. Very few are neocons. The neocons just can't make the cut into higher
education.
They just aren't smart enough as Bush so eloquently demonstrates.
