Can I still get "Bad day for JFK ground Controller"? by [email protected]
Last March, there was a discussion about a bad day for a JFK ground controller, who was super busy. The audio was impressive and funny to hear. I found the postings, but the link is gone. Does anyone have a copy of the clip or a link? I'd appreciate it, Thanks.

Commentary on UAL Pilots' Whining and Bellyaching by [email protected]
I presented a brain teaser of sorts to my friend who had been a professional football player and coach. I asked: "What would you say of a football coach who recruited (within constraints) less than the best players for his team?" Well, my friend simply couldn't fathom this. He kept repeating:...

Landing Critique by Marco Leon
See video of a hard(ish) landing at: http://www.flightlevel350.com/viewer.php?id=4137 Did this guy land a bit short of the runway or was his glidepath a bit too shallow? Something else? It's hard to tell from the video but maybe some PA-32 drivers can give some insight. Or maybe someone fluent...

'nuther question: highest TAS... by xerj
.... for a normally aspirated piston occurs at sea level and full power, but for a turbonormalised engine it will be at critical altitude, right? Thanks in advance.

Post air pictures on usenet. by TThierry
I've changed my gallery and now there are direct links towards the pictures in the gallery. Thus, if you want to show a picture and don't have your web page, as long as it is an air picture, you can use the gallery to make it available on the net, then post the link to access it. Try these ones...

What a sight...and what a sound by Roger (K8RI)
I thought I'd posted this to RAP but apparently it didn't show up. So if it shows up twice... I had been working out in the shop this evening and was beginning to think about going into the house when I heard what sounded like a helicopter in the distance, but as it got louder the beat was way...

Another flight done. by Oz Lander[_2_]
I've posted this with all my errors and mistakes included, as I believe in posting true and accurate accounts of what happened. I state here and now, that I know what they all were, and have learned from them. I do not wish to evoke the sort of criticism I copped last time. Well, I was due to fly...

Can Barons back up? by Mxsmanic
I notice that my (simulated) Baron has negative pitch adjustment available, below the feather position. Does this mean reverse thrust, or what? I tried setting it to -25 on the ramp with the engines running, and each time I tried it, the engine stalled a few seconds later. Am I supposed to be...

Memphis Belle Pilot Update by Jay Honeck
This just in regarding Col. Bob Morgan, pilot of the Memphis Belle in World War II: As of this morning Bob's pulmonologist has given him very little chance of survival. This is a terrible turn of events, as he was doing better just yesterday. Needless to say, his family is devastated. The...

Required IFR Radios by Bill Denton
If I am reading FAR 91.205 (d) (2) correctly, you only need one COMM radio and one navigation radio (of some type) for IFR operation. If this is correct, how do you stay in contact with ATC while picking up ATIS, etc? Are you allowed to request a frequency change, then come back to ATC? Thanks!

Rare Bird found at Katama [1b2] Martha's Vineyard Island, Mass. by Doug
I see two angles coming on this one.... Damn environmentalists.... 1. Non-native species invades local eco-system, creates trouble for local wildlife. 2. Rare species found now requires protection, close the airfield and 1000 acres of former public land now bird sanctuary.
