How do I get MSL out of National Elevation Dataset? by
Kyler Laird
I received some helpful e-mail that pointed out that the NED
elevations *are* orthometric (NAVD88). That's good to know and
certainly simplifies my life, but it doesn't explain some of the big
(over 400') differences I have observed. Back to the data...
First I eliminated facilities in Hawaii...

you have no right telling people what to do
your actions are a primary reason why people do not post in
alt.culture.cajun
Below is the newsgroup post list since dec 22,2003.
As usual your only contribution is that of bitching or
recruiting/grouping up your kkk mentality cronies to create havoc.

Why don't airlines also do charter jets? by
Scott T. Jensen
This evening, I watched a documentary on TV about the rise of private jets.
During it, they talked about the rise of charter jet companies. These being
companies from whom you can charter a private jet from a one-time use to
something along the lines of a time-share. Anyway, what struck me odd...

Airport security. by
Roy Smith
I had an interesting experience yesterday. When I drove into the
airport (White Plains, HPN), there was a checkpoint set up on the access
road. It looked semi-permanent; a drive-through pavillion (sort of a
large-tent open at both ends) with flood lights installed inside.
It was manned by an...

What are you leaving... by
EDR
I do some of my best thinking while flying along in the Champ at 500
feet AGL.
The latest realization to hit me was, "What am I going to leave behind
in the way of an aviation legacy?"
Photographs are one of the easiest most efficient ways to share our
flying experiences with other, so that is one...

TFR shapefile? by
Kyler Laird
It looks like the BLM has a shapefile for all of the TFRs but they only
share it with "BLM members who are logged in".

Anyone know of another source for this information? (I'd also like to
hear why they're restricting access to this.)
Thank...

Mooney busts NY airspace by
Roy Smith
Wonderful front-page story in (of all places) today's New York Post
about a guy in a Mooney who sounds like he busted the NY Class B with
style and ended up with an armed escort home.

How about worst looking airliner? by
Andrew Burke
Of the current crop, I'd say the Beech 1900D. Nose wheel RIGHT at the nose,
the cockpit looks like it's from another plane, as does the passenger door,
all those appendages around the tail...
