Continental IO-520A operating data? by Michael
Does anyone out there have power setting and fuel flow data for a Continental IO-520A engine? These were installed on some 1970's era Bonanzas, and someone whose opinion I respect mentioned that the power setting and fuel flow data in the aircraft POH were based more on marketing requirements than...

Cirrus or Lancair? by Matt Barrow
Contemplating a Lancair to downsize my six seater to a four seat. Seems, though, that the Cirrus SR-22 is rather more popular than the Columbia 350. Can anyone shed some insights on these two side-by-side? Thanks,

Telex PC-4 Intercom thoughts? by [email protected]
Hey all. After some soul-searching following an inquiry post about ANR headsets, I realized that part of my problem with the plane is the intercom. The old ISOCOM that's in it is OK, but I've got a few issues with it. It has a single squelch for all four places (different mic sensitivies...

Cherokee 140 Oil Temp Sender by Mike Spera[_2_]
Still trying to track down a high oil temp reading. I would like to get a new temp sender to swap out. Too lazy to rig up the hot plate, thermometer, etc. to test the old one. Part has a number of 362-EW. Same number is on a friend's Arrow. Methinks most/all cherokees may use the same one....

"Speed" tape? by Jay Honeck
At Reno, all the Formula One and Sport class racers had every single non-aerodynamic gap covered with clear tape. Which got me to thinking, there are LOTS of non-aerodynamic gaps on my Pathfinder. The stuff looks like basic, clear packing tape. Anyone used this stuff? Is there any benefit at...

Beech duchess comments? by [email protected]
I've contemplating buying my first plane. C182 is almost perfect for what Iwant to do with the plane. alas the last few flights have had some significant overwater legs. CRQ-AVX-SBA I also want to be able to comfortably return home after dark. Thus I was thinking about a light twin, something...

US pilot flying a Canadian registered plane by Doug
If I go to Canada and fly a Canadian registered plane, can I fly it in Canada on my US license? Can I bring it back into the US (say I buy it), can I fly it in the US? Anyone have any experience with getting a Canadian registered plane registered in the US? I suspect it is quite hard now,...

MAYDAY in the Everglades by Marty from Sunny Florida
Hello everyone. The end of my story is this; We landed safely in the middle of the Florida Everglades and didn't get a single Alligator bite. Here's what happened; On Friday, April 29th, we took our Cessna 152 from Lantana, Florida to the

Strange compass behavior by me
Help, can someone help explain these compass symptoms? I know that the compass should be about the most reliable piece of equipment in the plane, but ours is acting strange. We have a Precision PAI-700 vertical card compass mounted in a 1966 Cessna 182. We’ve swung the compass on the ground with...

Radio sidetone problem by Marty from Florida
Hey again. I have a new TKM Nav/Com (Michel MX385) in a 1982 C152. The radio is great, clean, lots of volume. The sidetone, however, is very faint, almost a whisper, and it's making me nuts. On a rare occasion, while I'm transmitting, the whisper blasts out for a brief second, and returns...

Does anyone know what size fuse is used in the clock circuit in a 172H. This fuse is located in a holder by the battery box. POH only shows fuse and no ampere rating. I would guess 1 or 2 amp?? Thanks, Mark
