Q: Buddy store internal fuel? by
Guy Alcala
I was just wondering if any buddy stores carried internal
fuel,or if all the internal space was taken up by the
drogue, hose and reel, pump, etc. I have conflicting
sources, so hopefully those here with personal experience
can give me the straight skinny. If you can mention the
particular...

Tankers and strike packages (Was: EA-18G vs ES-3) by
[email protected]
Which A/C in the package launch last? The Prowlers! They have the
most
fuel onboard. S-3's, then the E-2's, then Hornets ( the F-18's head
straight for the tanker), then Tomcats and last, Prowlers. Of course
planeguard is already out there, and maybe if in range, the COD will
launch.
That...

QF-14 by
bob urz
Why did not the US turn the F14 into QF14 drones rather than just cut
them up? How many F14's are left in the bone yard?
I see there are plans for QF-16's when the F4 supply runs low.

INS Alignment at Sea by
Gary Watson
I am conversant with commercial INS and old military INS (LN3) and know that
the best alignment occurs when the a/c is stationary. Now my question.
How is the INS aligned at sea on a carrier that is moving at 30kts? Does the
ground crew start an alignment below decks prior to bringing the a/c up...

U.S. & ISRAEL SELECTING TARGETS FOR CRUISE MISSILE FIRST-STRIKE ATTACK by
dontcowerfromthetruth
I don't know how credible the following is, but it is concerning if it
is (it would be right in accordance with the 'A Clean Break'/war for
Israel agenda that James Bamford discusses on pages 261-269 of his 'A
Pretext for War' book - scroll down to such...

1957: Naval Type Specification 146 by
Marco P.J. Borst
Hello,
Back in 1957 USN's Naval Type Specification 146 was issued to find a
replacement aircraft for the P2V Neptune and P5M Marlin. As you might know
Lockheed's Model 185 (later called P3V-1 Orion and again later P-3A Orion)
was the USN's choice.
Nothing much is known about the other aircraft...

RAAF P-3C Orion by
Marco P.J. Borst
The RAAF did have 19 P-3C Orions, 18 of which have been modified to AP-3C
standard. The 19th aircraft, a trials platform, was not modified to AP-3C
and remains being a P-3C. Does anyone know which RAAF P-3C is this odd one
out?

JFT - Ejection Seat Question by
Pat Carpenter
Can anyone tell me if the ejection seats fitted to the various version
will have different makes of ejector seats? Given that the Navy have a
liking for Martin Baker units and the Air Force tend to use ACES II
units (I don't know if the Marines have a perference but the RAF do).
Thanks for any...
