? about LS 6C by
S Schwartz
Does anyone know what years the LS6C was produced?
Is the C the only LS6 with automatic hook ups or did the B have them also?
Any info on flying experience in the B or C pros & cons.

?s Towing Cross Country by
Chris Kinnaman
Hello all,
I'm getting ready to tow a glider from central Illinois to the southwest.
Does anyone have any suggestions for motels that allow easy access &
parking for a tow vehicle w/glider trailer in the Springfield MO area or
thereabouts?
Thanks in advance,
Chris

A "god" of Soaring by
rlovinggood
For SSA members, we can now see one of the "gods" of soaring that we
worship.
http://ssa.org/sport/PhotoGalleryDetail.asp?category=contest&id=352&PhotoId=4636
I don't know if non-SSA members can access this photo. But it is
definitely one worth committing to memory and calling upon during
times...

A Bad Day at Salida by
Dan Marotta
No, no damage or injuries, just a high wind day where only 3 gliders
braved the sky.
Here's a view of the ramp (that's my LAK parked next to the ASH-30mi)
looking northwest:

a big question with a million answers by
Colin McGinn
ok here goes nothing
we as a couple are close to solo and because of limitation n time due to
business commitments we will find it hard to share club gliders once solo
so
look to buy one , however we are well aware that with time comes
experience
so we would like some advice on a good starter...

A bit breezy today... by
Dan Marotta
From Weather Underground:
Strong to very strong winds are currently impacting the higher terrain of
the central mountains extending from the Sangre de Cristos southward to the
northern Sacramento Mountains (we're directly in the middle of that) as well
as the east slopes. These strong winds...

A Clear Nav, A 1-26, and an Eta by
Tony[_5_]
So lets say you suddenly came into possession of all 3. The Clear Nav
seems to be about the niftiest of all the nifty flight displays out
there. The 1-26 is currently winning the OLC in the USA, and the Eta
is the hottest of the Open Class. You intend to fly both gliders to
their cross country...

A couple of questions by
Bill Gribble
According to my wife and my work schedule, I'm now grounded until
Sunday, which has me climbing up the walls ...
That aside, this could be a daft newbie question ...
Does anybody know of any decent sites (or, at a push, books) that
illustrate the various different types/makes/models of glider...

A cure for your aching Brake by
Tim Mara
Wings & Wheels now has HYDRAULIC ASSISTED DRUM BRAKE CONVERSIONS available for most glider types with TOST Kobold or TOST Standard drum brake wheels. Some gliders that also used TOST Lilliput 4" brake wheels can also be converted to Kobold 4" wheel with 5" Brake assemblies and use a similar kit....
