For the recordZZZZZJJJJJJ by
ChuckSlusarczyk
For those who have been following the conn case. Here's the latest from the
court concerning the case. It says what I've been saying all along that I was
not responsible personally for conns deposit to the old company. Just more
"proof positive" that zoom and jaun are not credible sources of info....

Texas Parasol by
[email protected]
To All:
I have recovered some of the files containing the corrections to the
FUSELAGE errors in the Texas Parasol drawings, originally posted in
Feb 2003 but since erased. Also found were portions of the tutorial
on extruded angle and its use for this type of structure.
If you've any interest in...

Sun N Fun '07 Redux by
Jay Honeck
Mary and I just returned from 6 glorious days at Sun N Fun in
Lakeland, FL, where we enjoyed the most amazingly perfect weather I
have ever seen at such an event. The nights were cool (almost cold
the first few nights) -- perfect for sleeping -- and the days were
sunny and warm. No humidity, no...

Why no new diesel radials? by
On-Condition
Just wondering, exactly why are radial diesels not part of the
diesel revival? You can't beat radials on airplanes for smooth
reliability. I once saw a cracked-off jug pounding through the
cowling as the engine was still running (the single Otter had
just landed).

Oshkosh camping by
keepitrunning
Last time I was there I parked my airplane in the homebuilt parking and
camped next to it. I am wondering if a friend flew in with me in a
production aircraft, could we park together in the homebuilt parking or
would they have to go off with the production parking. Can you camp in the
production...

Any plans-built "RV equivalents" out there? by
Netgeek
I've been searching quite a bit for something equivalent or similar to an
RV-9 but
available as a plans-built. So far - no luck (seems that Van has done too
good a
job 8-)...
Basic requirements are - well - same as an RV-9: Metal, 2-seat (not tandem),
power from O-200/O-235/IO-240/O-320 - minimum...

Zoom fables on ANN ZZZZZZZZZZZZ by
ChuckSlusarczyk
Todays ANN (Awful News Net) had this to say about the fearless Capt Zoom..
Credit for this article goes to ANN which was posted 7/14/04...
Quote:
"For over 30 years, Jim Campbell has told the world of
aviation what no one else dared to... the truth. He's worked
as a test pilot, stunt pilot,...

It got me to poking around on some european website. I found the specs
for the ford 1.4 litre diesel sold over there. Not sure how the figures
size up to gas engines currently in use. Any...

From the Jim Campbell, Captain Zoom archives (all of 6 years ago) by
Mick
Folks,
Thought this was too important to get lost in the past. And I conclude
more than ever that Jim Campbell does bad things, is bad for aviation,
and has no business in the aviation community. The most salient points
are, in my opinion, the references to glowing reviews of unsafe
aircraft by...

Grounded - Where to get rid of the Building Materials? by
Rocketeer
Hi Folks:
The FAA made it official, and I appealed all the way, but the heart
monitor put the stake in the plans I made. I am grounded. I was going
to build a Renegade, Charlie Lasher's Formula V from the 80's.
So, I have to forget building the plane. I have $300.00 of Wicks
chrome-moly...

Post-accident photos of RV/TBM Avenger Oshkosh taxi collision by
Jim Logajan
Some post-accident photos (no gore, thankfully) showing the RV and TBM
Avenger were posted on a forum on Doug Reeves' RV website:
http://www.vansairforce.com/community/showthread.php?t=9638
Really gives some perspective on the visibility, or lack thereof, that both
pilots must have experienced.

You Know You're Old Dept. by
[email protected]
You know you're old when some kid posts a picture of a plane you've
flown in captioned: 'What the hell is THIS?'
(It's an AJ-2, son. A nice airplane and one of the largest to have
flown off an Essex-class carrier.)

Testing On The Cheap by
Veeduber[_2_]
So... how strong is your wing?
The only sure way to know is to TEST it.
How do we do that? We roll the airframe over on it's nose, support
the main spar with a structure of some sort... Douglas Fir 2x4's works
okay... then we stack a known weight onto the wing.
Still confused? No problem; just...

Continental O-200 ? by
Stealth Pilot
I noticed in another post that the Continental O-200 is back in new
manufacture again.
Are there any links to the price of the new engine and the
specification differences between the old O-200 that I fly with and
would like to replace and the new O-200 LSA engine?
I spent an hour probing the TCM...

Bothersome Phillips Head Screws by
Larry Smith
Doing a little work on old Cessnas for fun these days and have to tell you I
don't like Phillips head screws. The slightest corrosion and they stick
and freeze. Then your Snap-On screwdriver (make sure it fits) wallows the
head out, as you grunt and cuss. Then you have to pull out the old...
