3rd class medical now expires in 60 months ? by
sid
Today I was informed by my medical examiner that the “Medical
Certificate” for 3rd class now expires after 60 months as opposed to
36 months for pilots under the age of 40 years at the time of
issuance.
I am trying to finish my VFR, but my student certificate expires after
24 months.
The examiner...

Anthony, question about IFR / IMC by
Darrell[_2_]
Anthony,
Is it true that one must fly by reference to instruments alone while
in IMC and/or IFR?
I am an instrument student and I thought I learned something
different. Please explain where you learned that I must fly by
reference to instruments alone when on an IFR flight plan or in IMC
above or...

Stop bashing Anthony by
Viperdoc[_3_]
At the request of one of the other posters, I hearby pledge to not respond
to Anthony, no matter how ridiculous and inane his comments. There is a
certain pleasure in insulting him, but he is either too stupid to get it, or
just the response alone gives him the perverse attention that he desires...

Oshkosh 2008 Photos by
John[_9_]
Maybe I am spoiled. I keep expecting that in this modern age there
will be plenty of photos of an event like AirVenture even while it is
ongoing. The official EAA site is top heavy with photos of mechanical
bulls, past prime rock n' roll acts, and photos of the people that
make AirVenture what it...

Anthony, question please by
Darrell[_2_]
Anthony,
You've been asked 5 times in a nice, diplomatic way by "Ricky" to
simply provide one reference to the respected literature that you use.
You have said over & over again that you cut & paste and use well-
known, respected, legitimate aviation resources for your information.
In particular,...

25 Reasons You Might Be a Liberal
* You're sure the Constitution explicitly guarantees the
right to abortion and gay marriage, but not the right to own
a handgun.
* You think Dan Quayle is the dumbest Vice-President we ever
had because he believed a flash card that misspelled
"potato," but...

Right Rudder by
Ol Shy & Bashful
Oh my goodness....Right Rudder? Why in the world would any pilot need
right rudder and why do so many of todays pilots fail to have any
understanding of it? How come so many of todays pilots seem to hug the
left side of the runway?
Such a frustration for CFI's and I wonder how many of the current...

than this group. The URL for the group is he

E6-B for Palm OS? by
Sandman
I have seen several E6-B calculator utilities for the Palm operating
system, and I was wondering if any of you could recommend (or not
recommend) any of them, I'm looking to score one soon (and any program
that had any features specific for helicopter would be a bonus).
Thanks in advance -

What to do if the canopy opens during flight ? by
Superdoof
Hi,
In the video at www.fulldeflection.com , Kirby Chambliss has his
canopy fly open during flight.
He was very cool about it. I think he made all the right choices.
I've had a door open a few times during flight too, on a Cessna 152.
My instructor showed me how to close it in-flight.
You slow...

Unusual Traffic by
Airbus[_4_]
After an ILS to 04 at KSCH the other day, we broke out into decent VFR,
so I asked for some closed pattern work. On downwind, they asked us to
hold 360 degrees "Traffic is a Boeing B-17, your twelve o'clock, two
miles . . ." Then "Number two, behind the Boeing . . ." I followed him in
from left...
