Mooney Low Voltage by
[email protected]
Can anybody help me diagnose this problem? Just bought my new (to me)
1978 Mooney 201, flew it back from Kansas City to Atlanta, no problem.
Flew to Richmond, VA - again no problem. Leaving RIC for Atlanta, the
low voltage light started flashing. Didn't want to carry on IFR so
stopped into...

Mooney M20 K on Grass ? by
vfr2003
Hi,
I'm interested to buy a Mooney M20K. But the airfield I use is grass airfield.
Do you think that Grass is ok with a M20K or it's dangerous ?
Thanks a lot.
(I must take a decision in few days ... )
Mike.

Mooney M20 K on Grass ? by

Well ... it's not dangerous, but it might be expensive :-)
You can operate a Mooney off grass. Lots of people do. However
you really want the smoothest possible grass, which is fussed over
and...

Mooney M20C Questions by
Greg Esres[_2_]
On the hydraulic flaps, does the position of the silver pump handle
have any bearing on whether or not the hydraulic pressure leaks out of
the flap, once they are extended? (The POH doesn't say that it does.)
There is some mechanism underneath the instrument panel that has some
adjustment for the...

Mooney M20E: pre-1969 vs 1969+ by
Jeff Meininger
I understand that in 1969, Mooney implemented a number of changes in
the M20C / M20E models. A friend and I might start shopping for one
of these planes in a few months, and I'm trying to figure out what's
important and what isn't.
1. Does the larger rudder in the 1969+ models have a positive...

Mooney M20F narrow across the shoulders by
Mark Hansen
I looked at a 1969 Mooney M20F over the weekend, and was surprised
to see how narrow it is in the cockpit. While sitting in the pilot's
seat, I was pushed to the right by the left side of the cabin, and
was not able to sit directly behind the control yoke.
Perhaps I'm just too big for this...

Mooney Rocket by
Al
Is anyone interested in a Mooney Rocket? A friend here has one up for sale,
$150,000(us). The 325hp TSIO 520 has 405 hours, the airframe about 7000.
Extra tanks, spoilers, GM530 etc. I do believe it has a minor damage
history, gear up landings. (Yes, plural)

Mooney Turbo Bullet by

Does anyone have information on this airplane, STC SA4758NM? There is a
gentleman in Idaho looking for the wording of the STC for continued
airworthiness. He has tried to contact the current STC owner, Aircraft
Design, Inc. in Spokane, WA with no success. The paperwork did not follow
the...

More info on GNS 430/530 WAAS upgrade by
PPT33R
I recently made an inquiry to Garmin regarding their new requirement
that GNS 430/530 owners pre-order the WAAS upgrade prior to November
2005 to guarantee the $1500 price their marketing department has been
stating for the past 2 years...
Keeping in mind the WAAS upgrade for these boxes are...

More on CHT probe replacement by
Jim Burns
I've been researching how to replace an old AC Spark Plug CHT probe in our
Aztec. AC doesn't make them anymore and the replacement Rochester brand
probe operates at a different resistance range requiring the gauge to be
removed, shipped out and recalibrated. Not a fun proposition.
Rumor, and a...

More on High Performance Insurance by
Jay Honeck
I received this from a friend who knows a Diamond Star owner in MA:
"If you can afford the planes you can probably afford the insurance but
AVEMCO wanted $8300 per year for the SR20 and only about $4500 for the DA40.
It seems that low-time pilots have made a mess of many a Cirrus. (I got my

More plane ownership? by
Dave Covert
This is something that has puzzled me for a while...
I (a private pilot) work in the pleasure marine industry and have noticed
that almost anyone who wants to own a boat does own a boat. Now, some boats
are indeed pretty cheap, but a $20,000 boat is fairly common (approx cost of
a 150?). Here in...
