CFII instructor as passenger (FAA) by
Robert M. Gary
Another interesting question is.. Can a CFI give instruction in a sea
plane even though he only holds a private sea rating (assuming the CFI
hold CFI-Airplane Single Engine) ? Back when my sea rating was only
private I asked our local FSDO office. They said they could not find
anything that said no...

Power pack for camping? by
LincTex
Paul Tomblinwrote:
I know from harsh experience that keeping the airplane master on to
use a cigarette lighter adaptor runs down the plane battery pretty
damn fast, so that's not a good idea.
An external power receptacle (cig lighter) can be hard wired to the
battery. (with a fuse) or just use...

Question for Ron Natalie by
SB
Ron,
I was wondering if by chance you were able to come up with a particular
regulatory section of any FAA publication regarding our earlier discussion
of Class E surface area extensions (9-8-06) to airport when the airport
class D area is IMC. You mentioned in that case they owned the...

falling ice from airplanes? by
Big Crunch
This article discusses recent cases of "megahail" falling from the sky
since 2000. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megacryometeors
Is there anyway 10 to 400 pound ice chuncks could form on a jet
airplane and fall? Is it possible with a deicing system.

what were those calendar's called? by
[email protected]
Hi,
Perhaps somebody here knows. I vaguely recall that back in the mid-late
80s there was a company that published calendars that always featured
some beautiful woman posing with a very nice aircraft. I think they
were called pilot pal's calendars or something like that.
I've googled a bit but...
