Skydiving and FAA regs by
Ricky
I just got through watching several skydiving videos trying to
motivate myself to plunk down the money to continue my AFF jumps.
As a pilot/mechanic, I have continually been alarmed at the seeming
disregard for federal regulations in the sport, or are they?
Do jump planes operate under a waiver...

Headsets: "Minimum Advertised Price" by
Will Thompson
Just about all of the major (USA) pilot shops on the web use a "minimum
advertised price" for headsets. The actual price for a popular headset,
such as Lightspeed or David Clark are not readily available on the
website. Instead you only find out the real price after actually
ordering or requesting...

Citabria with gyros by
Bob Esser
After long consideration, I have decided on the type of plane to
purchase: A Citabria 7ECA. What led me to this decision was the
following desire. I want to be a part time instructor and I think the
perfect niche for me is roving tailwheel and spin trainer for the flight
schools in my area. I...

GPS Ideas by
RD
Good day,
Can someone give me an opinion on what type of GPS unit is good enough for
me. I'm a GA pilot, very low time, looking for a decent GPS to take along
for some X/C flying in the rentals. Just need to see highways and cities
etc. I'm not very worried about airspace as there isn't much...

Peter MacPherson
Did Delta also end an era of luxurious "management pay" by 32.5 percent?
I tend to think not.....

Verifying flap retraction by

One of the more experienced pilots in our club scared himself climbing out
of a touch and go during which he didn't notice that the flaps had frozen at
20 degrees on our 172.
I've been investigating the flap system on Cessna's and am impressed how
easily a bit of fluff or corrosion in just one...

Anyone got an FCC radio license by

Has anyone here bothered to get the FCC radio license? I've been going
down to Mexico for awhile and have never heard of anyone down there
ever being asked for one (the officials in Mexico don't even know what
it is).
Has anyone ever heard of anyone being asked for it in Canada?
I'm just wondering...

What's the best sounding aircraft you ever heard? by
DeltaDeltaDelta
This came to mind when I heard a RAF VC-10K overflying my house at some 1000
feet AGL at full steam. What a sound! The VC-10 both looks and sounds
powerful. Also, the piston Yak-52 I heard a few days ago...unbelievable,
such a powerful and awe inspiring sound. The only thing I regret is...
