Automotive shocks in aircraft by

Can automotive shocks or McPhereson struts be used in landing gear struts? If
so how would one determine which ones to use?

Well, truth be told, someone DID sneak some "Grain Belt" (in cans, no
less!)
onto the grounds -- but we made those go away quickly....

Switch/pot shafts by

I need to make some switches. Any suggestion as to where to buy shafts? I used
to have a link to a place that sold the shafts and accessories. I lost said
link.

28 volt pitot heat by

Will running a 28 volt pitot tube heat on 12 volts heat it enough to use? I
keep seeing 28 volt pitot tubes on e-bay and was wondering if they would do the
job.

War Stories: Good degreaser? by
B2431
I've heard of them doing up to
150 octane (I don't know how that's chemically possible, but that's
what they say)
It's not based on the hydrocarbon octane anymore. Most automotive gas pumps
have the formula decal.

Pitot and static couplings for a TTU-205 by
B2431
I have aquired a TTU-205 and need the pito, static and vacuum couplings and
dust caps. Kollsman wants almost $400 a piece for the couplings and over $100
each for the dustcaps and plugs.
Does anyone have an idea where to buy them cheaper?

I may not be a high time pilot but there aren't many people about
whom three training captains at American Eagle have said flies better than
90% of captains they train on the ERJ and Saab.
And I had three JAL training captains tell me I could fly a 747 better than
moooozer.

question KR-2 or KR-2s construction by
BA
hi,
I am seriously looking into getting my pilots license and building a
homebuilt airplane (via purchase of a kit....preferably a fastbuilt kit or
one with low construction time (around 1000 hrs or less).
anyway, I love a lot about the KR-2 (mostly the kit price and the fuel
economy). I have...

compound curves in plywood by
BA-100
I'm considering building a replica of a 30's glider that was originally
built in two halves, like a plastic model, but with pressed plywood halves.
Duplicating this has been outside the reach of a homebuilder without some
sort of press, and any made since have either been made out of fiberglass
or...
