Wiring by

It just seemed to me that a 2-letter prefix would hasten the search for
a particular wire without going through 100-200 Numbers only

Wire for homebuilts. by
clare @ snyder.on .ca
I've come across a supply of wire at a reasonable price that I think I
want to use to wire my plane. It is NOT aircraft wire, but I have all
the spec on it. It is MTW (machine tool wire) AMW 1015/1230, FT1 and
VM1 rated. The 18 guage is 16 strand. Insulation is PVC (not
crosslinked) rated for -55...

About Jordan Wirsz
Born into a modest and challenging home in Southern California, Jordan
Wirsz early on decided that he wanted to spread his wings and improve
his means - literally.
A true entrepreneurial spirit, Jordan started his first business when
he was 13 years old and moved on to running...

Wings for a Warwick Bantam by
Ron Wanttaja
Buddy called me up a couple of weeks back... "I just bought a vacation house,
and there's some airplane parts in the basement. What should I do with them?"
Turns out they were wings, windshield, and instrument panel for a Warwick
Bantam, an all-metal plans-built design from the 1960s. The wings...

Wingo BWB aircraft by
Neal Fulco
I think I posted this message to the wrong group, so if you see it
twice...my mistake. My question is: What's the status of the Wingo
blended wing aircraft. They haven't been updating their website. The
last photo posted shows "repairs" being made. Anybody know what
happened to the plane? ...

Wingdrop while stalling by
drake
Hi,
there is a HAL HPT-32 (pistonengined 2 seater trainer light a/c)
which, when attempting a stall, does not pitch down correctly. Instead
one of the wings (either port or starboard (50/50)... no gyro problems
due to engine) almost always drops, and this genreally results in the
a/c entering a...

Wing walk ply question. by
Mustardbuilder
My plans don't give a lot of detail about my wing walk but it's for a truss
rib mostly wood wing. The walk is supposed to go from the front spar to the
trailing edge and should be 1/4 ply. my question is will a piece of 1/4 ply
bend around the curvature of the wing (Clark Y) or should I...

wing tank fuel guage by
D H
Hello all,
I'm building a mid wing airplane and looking for a clean fuel sight
gauge. I've tried a clear vertical fuel vent line inside the cockpit
for each tank without the desired results. I'm covering the top of the
tanks with Poly Fiber instead of Plexiglas so I can't do the light
access...

Wing stress program by
[email protected]
Anybody know where I can find an Excel program that calculates shear
and bending moments for a strut braced wing? I have one for a
cantilever wing, but not strut braced. Thanks

wing root strakes (not canard A/C) by
Wallace Berry
Thanks to all who replied to my post about about building wing root
fillets to reduce some tail buffeting on my Stits homebuilt. I'm pretty
much convinced that some simple strakes mounted above and somewhat
forward of the wing root leading edge will do the job. Some aerobatic
birds and apparently...

wing materials options by
rektide
hello,
i've just started buying & building relatively small rc planes, but
i've started wanting to build more accurate wings for some of my
increasingly larger / higher aspect wing design, particularly wings
capable of holding fuel. i've concocted crude plans for framing, but
i am unsure what...

wing levelers by

Sitting around the hanger and discussing the possibility of somehow using
off-the-shelf electronic/computer components or gadgits for semi-automatic
wing leveling on lightly loaded, short wingspans.
Not being computer guys, the current thought is that something should be out
there that is...

Wing in Ground Effect? by
BllFs6
Hi all...
I know this is somewhat off topic perhaps...but maybe somebody here has the
tidbit of info I need....
As Im sure you all know....the Lift to drag ratio of a wing goes way up once it
gets close to ground.....and roughly speaking the effect becomes pronounced
when the wing has an altitude...

Wing in ground effect by
(blank)
Can anyone lead me to a homebuildable WIG? I know Universal
Hovercraft has plans for a wing attachment to one of their kits, but
that's not what I'm after. I have found a towable glider, and that
has promise, but I'd rather not re-invent a wheel that's already out
there.
Thanks.

Wing Extensions by
Jay
Seems like it might be useful to have removable wing extensions for an
experimental. There are times when you want a fast airplane for cross
country and you can stand a long runway for the high TO/landing speeds
and then there are other times you want the low speed handling for
short field, etc. ...

Wing engineering? by
Lou
Ok, a question or 2 about the wings. I'm building a wooden aircraft
that could go either fixed tri-gear or retract. I choose fixed seeing
how this is my first plane to build and I wanted to keep it simple. The
fuel was supposed to go behind the firewall but I choose to build tanks
in each wing...
