New Bill Would Ban Public NOAA Weather Data by
Roy Smith
I'm still trying to sort out exactly what this means, but if it passes, it
can't be good for pilots:
http://politics.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/04/21/2058212&tid=103&tid=187
&tid=98&tid=219
The actual bill is at http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c109:S.786: (as
far as I can tell, that...

Design merit of blended wing aircraft by
Rob Mohr
A recent article in Aviation Week & Space Technology featured a pix of
a Boeing blended wing aircraft as an Air Force tanker circa 2012.
Does a BWA have any design merit for commercial transport?
I know one criticism on the BWA design centers on the lack of interior
windows. That seems so silly...

DC ADIZ procedures? by
Roy Smith
I'm planning a trip from HPN to GAI soon. I've read all the NOTAMs,
and all the other stuff AOPA and others have put out, and I'm still
baffled how this is all supposed to work. Some of the material
directly contradicts other stuff (AOPA's presentation says you MUST
close your ADIZ flight plan,...

Bill Zaleski
I have used a Microflo for 4000 hours now. I have found that unless
you leave power on for about one minute after setting FOB, the gal
remaining, or the fuel used, I can't remember which, will not be
correct. Yes, it is EEPROM memory, and does not need power to hold
data, but seems to need power...
