Is it Possible to Self launch (no wingman) with CG hook?? by
Jerz Rossignol
Hi Guys,
I'm curious if any of you guys have ever tried to self launch with no
wing man on a cg hook only glider. I have skids on my wingtips as
well. Would you put the wing that's on the ground further forward at
start? What's the technique!!
I think this is why having a cg hook is a...

FS: Ventus C 17.6 by
John Shelton
Time to buy next year's glider. See www.imdata.com for details.
The top of the wings have cosmetic cracks. They do not effect performance
according to those who know. But sooner or later, they will have to be
patched or refinished. The are not on the leading edge. They are not on the

LS-4? What about 1-26 or making a cheap sailplane? by
Jim Culp
A Posit:
If a sudden miracle of economics or foreign exchange
rates occurred, and gliders that now cost US $130,000

instruments were made available at US $30,000 - $50,000
I do not believe it would substantially increase the

Weather Tutorial Help by

Hi, I was searching for material to study, to increase
my ability to understand the soaring weather in my

charts, but they were broken.
I found a site that gives me a current skew-T chart,
but I need to learn more about them. Can anyone...

Soaring near Paris, France (Not Texas :-) by
[email protected]
Greetings, all!
My work will take me to Paris, France Nov 3-10, 2004.
Would you please be so kind as to forward me contact information
for a glider club or operation where I might fly as a guest
on the weekend of Nov 6-7, 2004?
I don't need to solo or go cross-country... just a "friend"
ride...

Watch out for pesky critters by
Charles Yeates
Way back, during a contest at Odessa, TX, competitors were issued with
rattlesnake bite treatment kits. A Ka 6 pilot at height and well away
on course felt a bite in his lower back – “If it is a snake, do I have
time to bale out or land to treat the bite or --- ?” He loosened his
straps, and with...

PW-6 arrives at Tucson Soaring by
Charles Yeates
Hi Charles,
Everything went well. We were able to unload and put the plane together
in about one hour and it looks great. We figure it will take about a
week to get the FAA paperwork completed and we can start enjoying our
beautiful new ship.
Best regards,
Frank
