What do you want to bet that the same thing is happening with 100LL?
So much for U.S. anti-trust laws.

History Channel debunks 9/11 conspiracies by
Gattman[_2_]
Hooray for The History Channel, who aired a program last night that
presented one 9/11 conspiracy theory after another and blew them all out of
the sky like clay pigeons. It also demonstrated why Americans view these
theories with such hostility and anger.
Of course it won't change the minds of...

Wind is fun by
Dave J
I went down to the airport (KPAO) the other day, not really knowing
what I was going to do. When I got their the wind was 260 variable
320, 15 gusting 20. I thought about whether doing some pattern work in
that would be manageable, and decided, I was up for it. I rented the
club's rattiest 172 (no...

Lost One Yesterday by
Orval Fairbairn
We lost a friend yesterday in a Baron C55. He lost the left engine on
takeoff, apparently stalled, went inverted and lawn darted into the
ground, through a small grove of trees.
According to reliable sources, the gear was down an locked, flaps in
takeoff position and fuel selectors on "Aux"....

Miami, Florida, airport and FBO recommendations by
Peter R.
I might have to attend a business meeting in June in Miami, Florida, and am
looking at flying my Bonanza from NY State to Miami.
Any recommendations for a preferred airport and FBO? Judging by the
comments on Airnav, it appears that Kendall-Tamiami (KTMB) seems to be the
most friendly to a...

Child seat by
Andrew Sarangan
We are considering a flight from the U.S. to Canada with our one-year
old. I am a bit confused by the FAR's regarding child seats. On the one
hand, it says that the child may be simply held by an adult, but then
it says if you use a child seat it must be approved for aircraft use.
Common sense...

A guy sitting at an airport bar in Los Angeles noticed a beautiful young
woman sitting next to him. He thought to himself, "Wow, she's so gorgeous
she must be a flight attendant. But which airline does she work...

OT I have lost a dear friend by
Dudley Henriques
With your kind permission I would like to take just a few lines here to say
goodbye to an old and dear friend.
This Monday, retired AF Brig Gen Robert L. Scott Jr. died. He was 97.
Scotty and I go way back together.
When I was a young boy dreaming about becoming a pilot, it was Bob's book

Populat Mechanics Octobrer issue by
Wally Samuelson
I just received the October issue of Popular Mechanics. The cover story is
about factory built sport planes. You don't need a license.
As usual the article is long on hype and short on specifics. I would love
to have a scale down of a P-51 Wow wouldn't that be a kick

FAA medical question by
G. Sylvester
I took my student pilot cert 3 years ago. Last month I renewed it.
The doctor sends the form into the FAA, right? How long does it take
to show up in the FAA (online) databases? I'm not really concerned
when the FAA paper work catches up as I do have the paper certificate
in hand. I'm just...

Cost of flying lessons by
Ramapriya
Folks,
At the only flight training center here in Dubai where I presently
live, about 40 flying classes would cost USD 6000. How much would a
similar duration course in the east coast of the US cost? I know costs
will vary, but what can I assume to be the average? Just for
information, a return...

Meigs ... by
Pilot
The fact remains, we pilots/AC owners, are a small (less than 1% of
the general population) and have N O clout. That means, when an
airport such as Meigs is closed by Daley (or any mayor for that
matter) most of the public couldn't care less.
As a matter of fact, Daley may have more supporters in...

Beavers are obsolete and at best potential beer cans.
I watched a DC-3 loose a wing in '87...Isn't it time to draw a line on what
should fly instead of what can fly?
While it is relatively easy to make an intelligent person appear ignorant,
it is impossible to feign intelligence.

Flight to Mesa AZ via Monument Valley UT by

My hanger mate has been considering buying a RV-6A for a few months.
We made one trip to Texas to view one but that did not work out.
Today we went to Mesa AZ (Phoenix area) from Colorado Springs CO to
view another one. My planning generated a trip that straight line
was about 478 nm. But that...

flying in snow by
Teacherjh
In a typical spam can (say an archer), which has no deice at all (save pitot
heat), is it safe to fly in snow? More generally, of course the snow will
bounce off and not stick to the wings (right?) but what about the clouds that
are producing snow - will they also produce airframe ice? If it's...

I'm in danger of becoming a regular contributor to "Aviation Safety". My

members and no one else is having a problem?
2) How can you grease a...
