Grob oxygen bracket by toad
Does anyone use an O2 cylinder mounted in the hatchback area of a 102 ? I have studs glassed in, but have never seen an example of a bracket and would like to mount an O2 bottle there. If you have this or have seen it, please post a description or better yet, post a photo.

Howling noise from nose vent by toad
I have a Grob 102 and it's making a very loud noise when flying fast with the nose vent closed down. The noise comes from the nose area and goes away when I open the vent. I would like to be able to close the vent sometimes, because it gets cold :-) Any ideas what might be happening ? It...

Grob Astir AD spar spigots by toad
To anybody that owns a Grob single, There is a new AD proposal working it's way through the FAA requiring inspection and eventual replacement of the spar spigots. The FAA thinks this will cost $840 for parts and 22 hours of shop time. Total over $2000. Todd Smith 3S

First Post: Hello! by Tobeon
Just a first post to say Hello! I just found this whole news group thing and was very happy to find a soaring newsgroup (though I haven't been gliding for several months due to school and huge lack of funds! No!) which is very bad as I just went solo and then couldn't go. I must save up some...

SkyLines Updates by Tobias Bieniek
Hi guys, we are almost on time for the northern season and have implemented some new things in SkyLines (http://www.skylines-project.org/) in the past days and weeks: - finally the elevation is shown in the barogram (US terrain data unfortunately not part of the database yet, but we are working...

solo 2350 owners by Toby Wright[_2_]
A long time back, I helped set up an email discussion group to let mini nimbus owners exchange experiences and knowledge, which seemed to work very well, and indeed is still going strong today. Since then I've moved onto a turbo with the solo 2350 engine which I've been operating happily for...

I have problem. I correct the aileron the wrong way at takeoff by Todd
I concur with the other postings for windy day practice. It is a great reflex builder. You may also consider some training flight with an instructor doing "un-assisted" takeoffs (no wing runner). It seems that this skill is no longer part of the typical training syllabus, but is a good way...

Glider Club Video Montage by Todd Burch
Hello all, The following message is aimed at readers in the United States: I know that for many of you the soaring season is in full swing right now, but I just wanted to let you all know about a service that your glider club might be interested in. A glider pilot myself, I own a digital...

ASW 15 and Libelle for sale - in bad shape by [email protected]
Recently, the Greater Houston Soaring Association has been donated an ASW 15 and a Libelle. Both are in *bad* shape. The ASW 15 was flooded in Houston during hurricane Harvey. The Libelle was left out in the elements for many years. Just putting this out there in case someone needs one of these...

Fat boy wants to soar... by toggles mcfarley
Hi, after a hiatus of nearly 20 years I'd like to start soaring again only this time I'm carrying a few extra pounds. Having decided on this last year I started working on the weight in Jan and am down to 230lb in boxers though I am continuing work on it. As I start to look for a club can anyone...

Boycott Gettysburg by Tom
Link to photos showing how the battlefield looked before superintendent John Latschar raped it. http://users.snip.net/~hart/ We loved Gettysburg: took dozens of week-long trips, spent many thousands of dollars there, but those days are over thanks to park superintendent John Latschar. He's ruining...

SeeYou - "Calculate minimum distance to next observation zone" by Tom
SeeYou has an option in the task window called "Calculate minimum distance to next observation zone" Does anyone know what calculation this uses? Say I fly 20 miles west to turn 1 on an AAT task with 5 mile areas. Turn 2 is 6 miles north of the midpoint of the first leg, but I fly straight back...

2016 SSA convention, So how did we do? by Tom (2N0)
Excellent job! Exhibit hall: 1. Lots of space and a great lay out for the gliders. 2. The RVs were not out of place (and they had some great deals) 3. The exhibitors were spread out enough that you had to go to visit them all to see who was there. 4. I think the exhibit hall would have been worth...

LX 9000 or CNII? by Tom (2N0)
I have a CNI,CNv, and a LXNAV V7 in my ASG-29. The CNI is easy to operate but it has locked up a few times and has given me a lot of headaches trying to start out of the top of the start cylinder - might be operator error :) Between the varios I always find myself referencing the V7 because it...

Draft Rule Change could effect S-LSA, E-LSA, and Experimental Gliders by Tom (2NO)
http://www.faa.gov/aircraft/draft_docs/media/DRAFT_Order_8130.2.pdf Pilots with S-LSA gliders like the Phoenix might start making comments. It could restrict their ability to fly over congested area or at night without regard to the pilot's certification level. There is a new Appendix C listing...

V7 screen freezing by Tom (2NO)
Has anyone else had an issue with a V7 freezing in place for a few seconds? The sound cuts out at the same with the data being display but not changing. My Clearnav vario is still working so I do not think it is an air issue.
