Interesting Resume (V Long) by
Bob Chilcoat
A pilot friend sent me this. It's probably already made the rounds, but I
hadn't seen it before. Sorry if it's a repeat.

AOPA Credit Card scam by
George Patterson
AOPA warns that someone is trying the scam of spamming pilots saying that MBNA
needs for them to verify their account info. These mails are not from MBNA. Do
not click on the link.
This, by the way, is true of every similar scam. No legitimate company will send
you mail asking for account info by...

Aviation Movies? by
Dave Burton
Here is you chance to suggest movies to show at a fly-in. I'd
appreciate any suggestions for newer movies, available on DVD or video
tape. We've seen all the oldies. I've got to stick to PG films for
the most part since this will be visible to the CAP cadets and anyone
else still up after dark. ...

Antidepressants and 3rd Class Medical by
Tim Howell
Last I knew all antidepressants were immediately disqualifying for any
class of medical certificate. Is this still the case? If a pilot has a
current 3rd class medical, and then begins taking antidepressants, I
assume his certificate immediately becomes void. What is the process
for re-obtaining...

Marine Radio using Aviation Antennae by
Jim Weir
Will it work? Probably.
Will it work well? That depends on what "well" means.
Will it work at peak efficiency. No.
In all probability, your reception will probably be acceptable. The transmitter
protection circuitry may (high probability) prevent you from getting any decent
transmitter range.

Got burned - Don't go to Lansing Jet Center. by
Jon Kraus
I decided to fly from my home north of Indianapolis Indiana to visit
family in Lansing Michigan. My trip up was a beautiful, uneventful hour
and a half flight. I was to stay until Friday morning and then return.
The weather on Friday made it impossible to return because of icing
issues. No...

Contrails by
Darkwing
Is there a certain speed an aircraft must be going for contrails to form? I
have never seen a 172 with contrails but as a kid I used to go to Road
America with my dad and watch the (then CART Indycars) and in the morning
you could see the contrails off the rear wings, so that tells me it has...

Sold out by IFR by

I used to subscribe to IFR until I realized that they offered a much better

four year old decided to subscribe :-). Today he recieved a solicitation

AOPA Sells-Out California Pilots in Military Airspace Grab? by
Larry Dighera
Another attempted military airspace grab?
The USMC wants to convert the San Onofre High and Low MOAs, that lie
along the busy, aircraft-congested Pacific coastline, into a
Restricted Area: R-2503D. The USMC say they need 38% higher
Restricted Airspace to conduct live-fire artillery and aerial...

High Blood Pressure by
Jay Honeck
Well, I'm officially old. After watching my blood pressure slowly climb
over the last three years (strangely, the years we've owned the hotel --
coincidence? :-), my doctor has decided that my ineffective weight loss
efforts aren't going to do the trick.
Here are the facts: BP is 155/85. ...

USS Ronald Reagan Question by

Someone has posted some cool pix from the launch of the new super carrier

wondering...
Is the new USS Ronald Reagan a *replacement* carrier? If so, which one is
being retired?
Or did we just add another battle group to the...

Bad Week for Airbus by
Phil
On top of last week's A340 incident, now an A330 experienced a sudden
depressurization on a shakedown flight. Among the injuries to
passengers were spinal injuries. Sounds like the pilot may have
abruptly dived the aircraft while some passengers were still standing
in the aisle. Or would people...

Enola Gay Damaged at Air & Space Museum Opening by

I'm surprised no one has brought up this travesty.

Museum -- was damaged by some nut case from Ohio who threw something at the
plane and dented it during...
