How high can you fly a Cessna 172? by
Victor
How high do you normally fly a Cessna 172. Have only been flying on
sea level airport and now will be flying on airports at aprox 7500' .
To get from one place to the other I might have to climb to 12500'. Do
you think that a 172 is able to do that?

Re--That center line issue--- by
Mackfly
Got tape? If you put your student in the seat then take a little black
plastic tape and mark the cowling (towards the front) you will give the student
a chance to see / learn that the sight picture of the runway should not be over
the "spinner". Also you might have them try to see the extension...

Plug for Jay & Mary by
Steven Barnes
shamelessPlug
Thanks to Jay & Mary at the Alexis Park Inn. Had a great little
mini-honeymoon there. Thanks for use of the van to check out the Amana
colonies. Very good eating there. Much smoother ride back home over 6,000
ft. The missus actually slept. ;-)
Thanks again!

If you fly an antique aircraft, the manufacturer did not provide a POH

What am I supposed to use?

Headsets: "Minimum Advertised Price" by
Will Thompson
Just about all of the major (USA) pilot shops on the web use a "minimum
advertised price" for headsets. The actual price for a popular headset,
such as Lightspeed or David Clark are not readily available on the
website. Instead you only find out the real price after actually
ordering or requesting...

Question on 172 M electrics... (1974 Skyhawk II) by
[email protected]
Hi All!
We do not have a wiring diagram (yet) for our plane.
The Cigar Lighter socket is dead, and we need to fix it to
power our new portable GPS. (or have a poower cable installed....)
Which 12V point (bus) should it be wired to? (dont want to
unwrap the harness to check out the wiring. )

Rental aircraft logs by
Chris Gumm
I hope I'm not the only one guilty of this, but do any of you that rent
aircraft ever look at the logs? I have never looked at ant log for an
aircraft I rented, it wasn't even brought up in my training. Well actually
it was only mentioned while I was doing training. I recently found out that
the...

Vandenberg Launch, April 17 by
Hey guys,
I'm a student pilot (7.1 hours, woohoo!) flying out of Long Beach,
California. I'm also a first year aerospace engineering major with a keen
interest in anything that flies. That being the case, I would love to see
the next launch out of Vandenberg, scheduled for Saturday the 17th....

Aircraft Rental in Monterey, CA by

Does anyone have recommendations of places to rent an aircraft near Monterey,
CA for a sightseeing flight & some dual? I found one FBO at the Monterey
airport with some 172SPs, but that was about it. Any advice on recommended
FBOs, or places with something more exotic than a 172, would be...
