KAS 297B Altitude Preselect question by No Spam
I tried on rec.av.IFR and got no response, so I thought I'd try here. Anybody know what it takes to adjust the alert volume on the King KAS 297B unit? The volume is killing my ears. TIA, - Don Farming looks mighty easy when your plow is a pencil and you are a thousand miles from the corn...

Ignition Exciter Wiring by Juan E Jimenez
Anybody have the pinouts for a Bendix Ignition Exciter, p/n 10-378340-1? Three pins, A, B, C. I think it's A= Ground, B=DC 7-30v, C=not connected. Also, does anyone know who can make me a custom harness for this unit? -- Get rid of SPAM like I did! http://spamarrest.com/affl?413905

Seeking KT-79 transponder install/operational info by [email protected]
Hey all. I recently inquired about replacing my dead transponder (KT-76) with a worn out cavity. I've since bought an e-bay special KT-79. I haven't installed it yet, but have powered it up on the bench. Things seem OK, except that the VFR button sends the unit to code "4263" rather than...

flying for money by [email protected]
In a few months I will begin training as a firefighter. I figured that becoming a pilot would be a great second career. I haven't taken any schooling for my pilots license and am just curious if anyone has any advice they can give me? For instance: Is it profitable? Is it very difficult to get...

Oil Analysis Results Question by Michael 182
TIO-540 in '79 TR182. I had a top overhaul 68 hours ago. Changed out the mineral oil at 18 hours and just changed the 15-50 oil at 50 hours. Chromium is 30.4. I suspect that new cylinders will cause a higher than normal Chromium for a while, but is this unusally high? Thanks, Michael

Starting Problem Question by Ron Rosenfeld
Friday AM I was unable to start my Mooney: 1965 M20E; Lycoming IO360A1A; Slick Magnetos; Starter Vibrator; Bendix ignition/starter switch. The engine would turn, and fuel would flow (actually dripped out onto the ground after a while), but no sign of "fire". Subsequent troubleshooting revealed...

slickstart on m20e by Dico Reyers
Hi, Has anyone had any experience with the SlickStart product? We have a Mooney m20e and it is a pig to start once the engine is warm. Perhaps its the lack of experience starting it, but I hear that installing a Slickstart will give the engine a boost, no matter if the plugs are wet or not. Any...
