Push-Pull propeller combinations. by
Eunometic
Several aircraft have been built with both a pull (or tractor)
propeller and a push (or rear) propeller aligned with each other.
Supposedly the arrangment is inefficient, yet the some of the Dornier
aircraft were record breakers.
Given that some aircraft were ruined or delayed by the problem...

Nobuyoshi Koremoto, an ex-skipper of JDS Amatsukaze that participated

from HMAS Melbourne playing an 'Orange' force carrier attacked USS
Constellation, which was...

Jettisonable helicopter cockpit doors? by
J[_2_]
Hi. An ignorant civilian here with a question. I've never been in or
near a helicopter.
The May 2010 USNI Proceedings (pg. 78) mentions that "he Navy's
H-72A's have several specific equipment additions, including
jettisonable cockpit doors...." I can understand jet fighters have
jettisonable...

The X37 Spaceplane Scam by
edward ohare
Recent media reports have characterized the USAF's X37 spaceplane as
an attempt to move warfare to space. The USAF denies the X37 is a
weapon, and USAF supporters have gone further stating its not even a
potential weapon. Meanwhile, the USAF's view of its true purpose has
not been plausibly...

First Modern Air-Air refueling by
Charles Talleyrand
When was the first modern air-air refueling? By modern I mean
"compatible with a modern tanker/receiver (either boom or hose)".
This question seems to be tricky, in that many of the early systems
would not be compatible with a modern airplane.
For bonus points, when was the first carrier based...
