SBD Makes Deadstick Landing by
Orval Fairbairn
This past Saturday, I had the privilege of flying in a massed Veterans'
Day formation at DeLand, FL. I was leading White Flight, consisting of
my Johnson Rocket, a Comanche and a Bonanza.
We had arranged to form up over Bob Lee Airport with Red Flight,
consisting of an SX-300, a T-34 and and SBD...

NBC shows their colors again by
Rich S.
Last night during the Olympic women's platform diving competition, one gal
blew her dive and her chance for a medal. She was understandably distraught
and was sitting behind the platform crying. An NBC cameraman zoomed in on
her face, probably chuckling with glee at his luck in being able to...

Team Air Bike (Ultralight) by
Flash
Yes, ultralight, but not entirely off-topic, as I could be interested in
building one. I know this is probably the most knowledgeable forum on the
net for this question,
I know the original Team Air Bike ownership has passed to someone who is not
releasing it for build/sale.
But I saw one a...

Tool Question??? by
Paul
I'm looking for an adapter with a 3/8--24 thread on one end and a 1/4--28
thread on the other. This would allow me to use a standard Jacobs chuck on
my right angle drill. Surely some one must sell such a device. Since I
retired, I no longer have easy access to a lathe so I must now go tool
hunting....

Jim Weir
The NiMH AA batteries in the handheld are now almost 6 years old, and are
starting to show their age. What's the best deal going on AA batteries these

Can you help identify this airport? by
Video Guy
Hello
My family has an aerial photograph of an airport we need help to identify.
It was taken by my late father-in-law sometime in the 1960's. At least that
's our guess. Could be a little later; and maybe even a bit earlier; we
just aren't sure.

(OT) lathes & mills : vocabulary questions by
jan olieslagers[_2_]
The recent thread about lathes and related machinery leaves me at a loss
with the terminology, me not being a native English speaker.
A) I think I can imagine a lathe, if I understand correctly it is called
a "tour" in French and a "draaibank" in my native Dutch. That means,
the piece of stock...
